fuse question...(search already)

I have two amps. One is 40w x 4 and another is bridged to 300w x 1. I plan to run the two by 8 gauge wires to the fuse block. then run the block to the battery by 4 gauge wire. which fuses should i put in the block and then in the fuse at the battery? can i just put in fuses that i know are big enough, like 60A all around or something else? the fuses i have are 1 40 amp, 2 60's , and 2 30's. i searched already and the answers i got were vague. thanx in advance.

For correct size fuses, use only the max recommended by the amp itself. If the amp comes with a 25a fuse on it, don't go above that. All you're doing by going substantially above the recommended is giving more juice a chance to screw your amp up in case of a problem.

that's what i thought. that means i need a 40 and a 25. so what about the fuse that's goes inline near the battery ? is 60 ok , or do i need another one? hopefully it will still be a blade fuse...

Use fuses to correlate with the gauge and length of wire you are using. The fuse at the amp protects the amp. The fuse on the wire protects the wire from catching the car on fire.
