Hey... another simple question
I have a dual bandpass box.. does it matter if the box is facing the trunk or facing the rear seats?
What are the pros and cons of each placement?
I was never too good at physics.. so it's all a mystery to me.

Thanks

I have a bandpass box.

It doesn't matter which way the speakers are facing, but I've found that it matters which way the ports are facing. I have mine laying on its back with the ports facing the back left corner. It makes a world of difference.

hey.. you were right...

I placed the box flat on its back. The ports are facing the trunk lid now (facing the letters M-A-X-I-M-A), and it sounds MUCH better. I still need to do a better job with some sound dampeners, but now it is tolerable.

Thanks

I am also looking for some sound dampening material for my trunk and doors but don't know which one to buy. I've heard that Dynamat is good but expensive. Which one should I get without spending too much $$$. Thanks.

Well.. I have allready found some.. my trunk lid is dampened, but I want to do the whole trunk. I used the same stuff that dynamat uses.. only it doesn't have the "dynamat"
label on it.
It's just an acoustical damping sheet."EXACTLY" the same as Dynamat.
McMaster Carr part Number 9709t18. it costs $12.79 per sheet. And that's for 12 sq ft. It would cost you $65.00 retail for Dynamat same size.
go to http://www.mcmaster.com/

Hope that helps.

hmm...
not quite. I want less vibration, less rattle. That's what the sound damping does. Nice try though.

Thanks CFC for the link. I checked out there site and sent them an email. Did you order the sheet over the net or do they have a store? Can I only get this product from them or do other stores carry this? Thanks a lot.
