Difference in Amp wiring kits

Just wondering if there are any big differences in amp wiring kits? Like if i was to take a 4 gauge 150 watt kit, and compare it with another of the same specs (4 gauge 150 watt kit) but different brand, would they be very similar. I am looking on EBAy for a cheap wiring kit, preferably 4 gauge since that is what you guys have recommended.

Do you think where i probably went wrong was taking that eclipse cd player and maybe spending a little more for a more powerful one? Because I am thinking about it, and if i had a more powerful cd player, then there wouldn't be any need for a 2nd amp, right? Because now, i have to buy a 150 dollar or more amp, pay for a power distributor, ect.

Let me know your thoughts.

thanks

bryan

You should be careful about getting advice from people who've put large sums of money into their stereos. They'll tell you what you need to get that might sound good to them. But you should be interested in what sounds good to you.

Have you even listened to your head unit without an amp? I mean, listened to it in the store, or anywhere? When choosing stereo equipment, it is best if you can listen to your potential purchases. Sure, if you have enough money, you probably can't go too wrong if you just buy a lot of expensive stuff recommended by other people. But if you're trying to be economical, I'd recommend that you listen to everything you can first, then decide what you want to buy.

For just a simple amp setup, I think getting a 4 gauge power wire and distributor kit is way overkill. You should only do that if you think you're going to be building this system up with lots of power in the future.

Well, he did say he was going to have two amps. In that case 4ga is about right. As to your question of wire brands, get the cheapest. As alot of people say, "copper is copper". About your Eclipse question, I have no clue what you have so can't help there. On ebay, look for KnuKonceptz. He has good prices, and products.

the main problem i see in cheap wiring is the rca cables. if you get some cheap rca s be prepared for the engine noise. trust me i have seen it happen to my friend. we keep telling him 2 dollars for rca is not the way to go. after he installed his system and drove of to see how it sounded bame engine noise. if anything i suggest put a little extra money into rca cables you willd need the insulation it does help.
