are there power distribution block GOODS AND BADS

I know when it comes down to gauge wires, there isn't a whole lot of difference in brands, but when it comes to power distribution blocks, are there some bad brands and good brands. Like, i am wanting to get a 4 gauge block that splits into 4 - 8 gauge sections for my 4 speakers.

just wondering

bryan

here is one i am thinking of getting, but i don't know if the brand is good or not, i am sure it is. This guy doesn't look like he sells crap.

Also, with amp kits, how important are the lengths of certain colored wires? All these kits on ebay are different in lengths, what would be the best length for a 1998 Maxima if everything will be install in the truck and ran to the battery?

for example this one

The distribution block doesn't run to your speakers...it runs to your amps. So in your case you will need one with a 4 gauge in and two 8 gauge outs, one for each of your amps. That one has four 8 gauge outs, it is designed to go to four seperate amps. As far as I have heard one block is basically as good as the other, just depends on what size in and out, and how many outs you need.

As for the amp kits you have to be careful, even though that kit says it is a 4 gauge the power wire is listed as 8 gauge. This is not the size you need. The footage is probably about right, you can measure your car to make sure. But you need to run 4 guage wire from the battery to the trunk and then eight gage from the block to your amps. You will also need 8 guage to use as ground wires on both of the amps. Then you will need the remote wire to run from the deck to your amp, you can probably splice off of one amps remote to power up the other one. Sometimes RCAs come with the remote wire inside the cabling. The size of the remote wire is not important. Also you definitely want an in line fuse in the power wire..pretty close to the battery.
