That brings me around to the Internet. As Eclipse grows we find that on a few occasions some people who are not authorized to sell Eclipse anywhere much less on the Internet are trying to take advantage of your loyalty to Eclipse.
DO NOT BUY ECLIPSE PRODUCTS FROM INTERNET SITES.
These sites are not certified to sell or install Eclipse products. If you are unlucky enough to have fallen prey to these sites, you know that there is no warranty coverage and no ESN ON GUARD theft replacement available. If you are thinking about becoming the prey to one of these dishonest sites consider yourself for-warned.
I'd like to relate the experience of one consumer. I'll call him "Bunky". Bunky goes to his local Authorized Eclipse Retailer and hears all about the Eclipse product and how terrific it is and why he should consider Eclipse instead of some run of the mill brand. At home that night Bunky and his son get on the Internet to research and verify the Authorized Eclipse Retailer's claims about Eclipse.
Bunky learned that the Eclipse quality was top shelf. While on the Internet Bunky and his son became the victims of one of these dishonest sites. Bunky ordered a 7001 AM/FM Video, CD Changer controller (great video display quality, 5 volt, 55Ohm pre-amp etc...) and two aluminum cone 8812.6 sub woofers.
Bunky sends this dishonest site a check for about $1,900. The site hammers the check (cashes it nearly instantly) and sends Bunky the only 7001 that he managed to liberate from some retailer. The dishonest site did not send the $800 worth of sub woofers. Bunky called and asked, "What's up...". The dishonest site kept telling him soon only not yet. Then the dishonest site stopped returning Bunky's calls.
Bunky calls me. Bunky wants me to send him the $800 worth of speakers or a check for $800. I helped Bunky understand that unfortunately his source for remedy was the dishonest site that he gave his money to. "But they are not helping me" exclaimed Bunky. "I guess that I am just out $800?!?!". I was compelled to answer yes and in addition there is no warranty on the 7001 at all. I shouldn't have to tell you that Bunky was feeling rather ill-used. After all, who likes being hosed?
The deal is that Eclipse products are very high quality products that are understood and successfully installed by only a select few retailers in the world. These retailers have devoted time and energy into mastering the "Eclipse Way". These are the only retailers that we at Eclipse trust to put Eclipse stuff into your car. These are the only retailers that we trust to advise and design the correct system. These are the only retailers that we trust enough to make sure that you are satisfied with your Eclipse purchase.
