Don't understand why complications with non bose systems and using bose speakers

I don't understand why there are problems if you wanted to take bose speakers and put them into a maxima that doesn't have a bose system. I have heard everyone talk about how the speakers are amplified a certain way and they only run at 1/2 an ohm, ect...

well this weekend, i watched a 6 1/2 " bose speakers (that came out of a 2002 Bonneville) replace the back right speaker of a 1990 Saab. And it worked great and sounded wonderful. Now, why can that happen, but you can't take a bose speaker and put it in a maxima.

thanks

sure it could be done, but it would require running the wires for the power and ground to each amp for the speakers, the signal wires could still be used though. Plus if you are into car audio you don't want the BOSE, they are a paper cone and foam surround that easily distorts at higher volumes.

It all depends on the power that the head unit is putting out. There's something else pretty funky like impedence... anyway, that little amp screws everything up and makes it REAL finicky on what wants to work with what. Just rip it all out and replace it... you can't get those speakers loud enough. And if you put a little juice into them, they blow.

i think paper cones give a really nice natural sound, but your right they distort at higher volumes.
