Stupid Speaker Question

Okay I got my Maxima last week for my 21st.....let's just say I love it....it's a 1995 SE all decked out....I'm in the process of moving my system from my old car into the Maxima....I had 2x12's Kenwood Kerry Competition hooked up to a 500x2 watt Memphis Class D Competition Amp.....with JBL 6x9's in the back and Memphis 5 1/2's in the front. Those are hooked up to a 400x4 Soundstream for the highs...Now I already put in my subs and have to tackle to process of installing my interior speakers now...the question is what kinda speakers does a 95 Maxima have on the interior...I'd prefer to ask rather than takin the doors apart and ****..... I know they aren't bose cuz the previous owner took them out and replaced them with ****ty ones when he sold it.....so I have to install my speakers or buy new ones....what size are the speakers and any good recommendations????

PS...Has anyone tried installin speakers bigger than the size already in Maximas.....and what about that spot in the back seat where u could pull down.....I think a nice 8' Sub would look nice in there.....

In the rear pass thru that you mention, I mounted a 10" forward firing sud. It looks great & provides enough bass for my tastes. We built a box that fit onto the rear seat frame and used some good sized bolts to hold it in place

The stock speaker size for the 4th Generations are 6 3/4 all the way around. Smaller sizes can fit with minor modification. I have Kenwood 5 1/4 components in the front, with Kenwood 6 1/2 's in the rear deck. As far as the subs, I have 2 Kicker C-12 (25th anniversary chrome ones) firing in a dual bandpass box. For that armrest that folds down in the rear seat, I first made a box with a "port" to fire through that opening, but it didn't sound well at all. My low end sounded terrible. It sounded like the subs were crying for help. I then rebuilt a dual bandpass box with the port firing "upwards" towards the rear deck. Man, does it pound!

OK. let me tell you the right answer. Back hole are exactly for 6.5" so you can fit any 6.5 midbasses.

Front holes are a little bit wider then 6.5", so the speaker would drown into the door. Cut the wooden MDF rings to hold the speakers.
No more questions needed!
Sincearely, Mike.
