I have a 96 maxima w/out bose system. I bought a Pioneer Premiere 740mp and managed to get my head unit working w/ a bosche harness kit. What I originally had was red wire from head unit going to red wire from the harness kit. However, the antenna doesn't come out when I turn it on. And w/ an advice from my friend, I connected the blue wire (I think antenna) from the harness kit to that combination. So what I got was red wire from head unit going into red wire and blue wire from the harness kit. When I plug it in, the antenna come out but the radio don't work no more. I thought it was the antenna wire so I took the blue wire back out and put it back to how it was before w/ just red going into red. Now, my head unit don't work anymore altogether. Does someone by any chance know what happened to it? Did I fry the head unit? Thanx in advance.

 

Try checking to see if you blew the main fuse on the unit.

 

Thanx. It is not blown. The fuse in the back of the head unit is still in tact. Any other suggestion?
