Would this security upgrade really work???

I spoke to a guy at a local shop today and he was telling me that since we already have a security system on our Maxima's, we don't really have to buy a whole new system. He said all I would really need to do was to add a motion shock sensor cause I already have the keyless entry and panic button and stuff. He says he has done it on his Acura before, and if it is so, it sounds like a pretty simple upgrade for security. And if so, is the security system that comes on the Maximas a good one, or would it be better to buy a new one anyway?? Do you guys think this can be so?? Would there be any draw backs to doing this as opposed to buying a completely new security system???? Thanks guys,,,,,,DMAN
