New system

I was looking to get a system for my 96 maxima, none bose. I was going to get a new head unit, 4 speakers, a sub and a one channel amp, can you please tell me some suggestions of brands to get, or an example system i can get. Thanks

I was also looking to spend under 1000 dollars, so try to consider that thanks.

GEt a pioneer deh 7300 hu,probably the best cd player for the $, then get some eclipse 6.5's and run them off the deck. buy a 1000 watt kenwood amp, and hook it up to a 12inch kicker L7,or a 10 inch.
Buy it all of ebay save 100's!!!
this will be the best system money can buy in my opinion(at least under 1k!!)

good brands for headunits are alpine, clarion, nakamichi.
i don't want to comment on subs, and which are the best. what kind of money and what kind of sound do you want from the sub, loud, sound quality????

a good mono amp to look at are the jl audio amps. the jbl mono amps are also quite popular since they are cheap.

Eclipse head unit, you'll never be sorry , and buying speakers off of ebay, or ubid can be really good and a lot cheaper

I agree with the Eclipse head unit...You can NOT go wrong with Eclipse. Now seeing your budget, that may not fit. As far as amps and speakers...I wont say what is best or worse, its all a matter of personal preference. But off Ebay or whatever, but keep in mind if you like warranties....forget it. Most of the better products available do not authorize online sales, and especially off Ebay...One step further, If you want a 5 channel amp I have a Soundstream Referrence 705s for sale.

Tha man speaks the truth!!! prices are cheaper, but don't expect a warranty, buyer beware!

I havent really decided on a price yet, because I just decided to do this the other night.Price was originally $1200 when it was new. The amp is in mint condition. As far as specs...
12V 14.4 14.4 14.4
4Ohm 2Ohm 1Ohm 1/2Ohm
High Power:200 300 400 N/A

High Current:100 200 300 400

Those are the ratings of JUST the sub channel. It also has "LSE.Q" which is very similiar to Phoenix Gold's "Bass Cube".Airbass is an optional WIRELESS sub level control. The power on the highs is rated at: 50X4 12V 4Ohm, or 100X4 12V 2ohm stereo or 4Ohm bridged. Soundstream has made some of the finest amps ever. Anyone else reading this that knows even a little about car audio would agree. The amp has so many option for connecting I would exhaust this entire thread posting it. More specs can be found at Soundstream.com.

Mmmm, Eclipse speakers...

I have the 6.5 components getting 50 watts RMS and they sound awesome. Best $235 speakers I've heard.

Well im stuck with the dilema of not knowing what to sell it for. Ive had it since it was new. That was many years ago! I don't want to say make an offer, because that's just annoying. None the less, that's where I'm stuck. I love the amp, it just doesn't fit into my application this time. I certainly don't want to put it on Ebay, because some lil **** will buy it, not knowing it's quality, throw it in his trunk like a bag of groceries and eventually beat the s*** out of it.

As far as the 'lil wonder...I love those specs too !!!
