WHere do you guys have your amps mounted, or placed?
I was looking at my fathers infiniti I-30, and noticed with his Bose setup, he has an amp that is supported by a steel harness sort of thing hanging from the trunk on the right side, about where the right rear speaker would be (except he doesn't have right and left rear speakers, he has i belive 1 8 inch sub/speaker right in the middle of the rear. Kinda weird. If i wanted to clear room in my trunk and try to suspend my amps (2 of them), would it be difficult to do this.
thanks

we were driving through a windy road behind my house.. I stuck like glue to the corner, his back end let go on him and he spun out and hit a tree. $3500 in damage.
so YES, weight distribution make a ton of difference!
(which is wny everything is between the wheel wells. I'd like it to be lower in the car too, but that's the extent of what I'm going to do to it.)

I have my amp mounted on to the back of my sub box, fits perfect. You can't see it when you open the trunk, well not really. If you open the arm rest hole inside the car you can see have the amp though with the 4 guage wire connected to the amp

mounted to a wooden floor in the trunk, placed as far back as possible right now, but only because i don't have my subs in yet, my next goal is to rebuild the rear deck and mount one of the amplifiers in the trunk, upside down between the rear speakers.

I mounted up my Kenwood 749s 4channel on the rear deck between the 6x9's wich was a perfect fit along with about 3rolls of dynamatExtreme to hold down any vibrations. My KickerZX460(twin custom mounted cooling fans) is mounted on the floor right up against the back seat with 2 1farad Rockford-Fosgate caps and that powers for now one 12" HE2 in a sealed box, soon to be 2 JL w6's. All my fuses/distribution blocks are under the rear seat and a 4gauge p-flo is ran right off my Optima Yellow top.

I heard somewhere that mounting the amp to the sub can damage the amp, or do something bad to the inside, is that just jibberish.
Well, i guess i have a few options, let me know what you think.
1. I can mount them to the rear deck (in the trunk) so that just leaves the placement for the sub.
2. I can mount both amps to the sub, one on the left and one on the right, then position the amp to either blow through the armrest hole or just position the sub as far back as possible in the trunk.
3. Put one of the amps on the back of the sub, and have the sub set back so that amp actually sits in the hole of the armrest spot, and then possibly mount the other amp to the rear deck.
What do you think of those ideas?
thanks

p.s. I will be having some better quality pictures coming.

I've also got tons of other projects I'm working on , so I just kinda go back and forth at random..
this weekend I started to get everything hooked up and install my front speakers, and I ended up installing an FMU and a few other things under the hood.

I used to keep mine on the top of the trunk, on the outside of the car, but after having to replace it a few times, it would randomly dissapear, i decided otherwise.
no really, i wouldnt mind having mine on the rear deck of the car but im affraid if i did that people would just jack it or the sun would get to it.
im just gonna mount it ontop of the sub box.

I have a 700watt amp under my drivers seat, and a 200watt amp under my passenger seat..if you mount them and have 1" of clearence between them and your seat, they breathe freely and only get hot enuff to cook a piece of dust.

not a great picture, but here is my setup. . . I have a second old school soloberic now and I plan on putting the amps under plexiglass on the trunk floor and cooling them somehow while putting both subs againstthe seat. . . Right now the trunk look ugly.
