System Recommendations...

Ok audio experts, I have a friend with an old benz who has about a grand to spend on a system this summer. He has a hookup to get the parts at cost, but will prolly have to pay for install. I told him to go with an eclipse HU, decent coaxial speakers (4), two JL10W3's, and the JL amp that matches up to the two tens... If any of you guys can provide some insight or other recommendations... Also, i know little to nothing about sopeakers, so if y'all could help there, i'd appreciate it.

sounds good to me. but if it was me, i wouldn't go with the coaxials. i'd go with components.

Well ,I throw my .02 in....I dont know if your friend is on a budget, but I think the best speakers out there are Polk...I bought the new EX3 series components... There are better brands out there, but they are expensive....If your looking for a good speakers,at a decent price, go Polk....better than Infinity, Pioneer , Kenwood, or any other speaker in that range...

he's looking at one grand for the total system. he can get the parts at cost, but will probably have to pay to install them. so i think the setuip i described and medium range polk speaker setup would fit, but i'm anything but an audio expert....

He's right... I can hook you up with Fosgate 6 1/2" components for a little over 100.00 + shipping. They retail for about 240.00...

Send me an e-mail and I'll give you the info...
