neon wiring...

i have the neons for both the passenger and driver side floor...foot of both seats...almost under them...can anyone tell me how to wire them to my lighted switch (installed already, waiting for wiring help) and to make them come on when i open the doors...i want them switched so i can turn them on to stay on when i want and i also want them to come on when i open my doors. all i need really is for someone to tell me what wires to tap into or where to wire them under the seat or something...i have a 2k1 GLE...no heated seats and i think there is an empty harness under there for that..is that usable? anyway...what wires under my dash should i wire to to accomplish what i wanna do...neons on with doors open and when i turn on my switch. thanks in advance. help please!

to come on when the doors open...tap into the wire that goes to the side markers in the doors...have to take door trim apart...to stay on the whole time...wire up to battery...to stay on whenever u want

The wire you are looking for should be RED at the "Smart entrance control unit" located just right of the steering column. It is a negative so use it as the ground side of your neons/stright power to the other side. using this wire will make the lights come on when you open the door.
