Question about most common rattles

What are the most common rattles associated in maxima's with bass? Especially in the trunk area, because there are rattles in my trunk, but i have no clue where they are, because if i lift the trunk lid, the noises obviously go away.

Also, there is a spot that sounds like someting is rattling in a box down near the left rear tire, just toward the inside quadrant of the vehicle (on the outside obviously). It sounds more like something shaking inside another box, but can't figure out where.

any help would be awesome

thanks

what i did to get rid of the rattles in my trunk was fill all the empty cavities with expanding foam. i filled the trunk lid , quarter panels, and between the taillights on the bottom of the car. i also built a custom trunk floor that sat above the factory floor out of plywood. i made a half circle access door to retain the spare well, and carpeted out the spare well to the floor. then i drilled holes in the plywood and injected expanding foam under all that too... for the most part the trunk is now solid. another rattle in my car has the headliner by the back window. the vibrations were almost making the window move, so the headliner rattled. i shoved a few peices of foam in the to stop that. what may also rattle is the rear deck. make sure your jack is tightened into positon. also.. take your spare out and make sure theres nothin in there. change and looses screws always seem to find its way down there, and make sure your spare is tight too.

Yea, i have done the license plat with a dynamat kit.

What about in the trunk lid, there are those 2 fairly large gaps in the metal, if you remove that felt covering (has like 13 black tabs to be pulled out to loosen it), and the holes are big enough to wedge your hand in. That is fine right, doesn't need anything done, because i am not sure if there is anything in there that rattles.

thanks

Ok, well i have heard of that expanding foam, dynamat, and that Peal And Seal you can buy at Lowes for only $12.50. for 12.5 sq ft.

What if in the future i have to get into that trunk lid?, in the holes i mean.

thanks

put some dynamat on the inside over the holes.

Whats really causing the lid to rattle is the keyhole mechanism thats in there. What I did was I duct taped the whole mechanism down with duct tape (part thats behind keyhole and the rod that connects to the latch. The good thing is that theres no more rattles, bad thing is that you cant use your key to open the trunk anymore since its all taped up. No problem since I never use my key to open my trunk (keyless entry or trunk pop button on the door)

or that peal and seal, right. I got real confused when i got the license plate kit, because it wasn't big enough to cover the whole plate, so i cut it into strips and applied those strips to the sides of my plate rim and the plate itself, but it works just as good. So i used extra pieces for smaller areas in my car.

Those are trunk vents (so that when you close the trunk lid - it doesn't build up pressure) They are on the both sides of the car BTW. They rattle(more like flutter) because they are vinyl butterflys (so the water doesn't come in) type things mounted on a plastc frame. inserted through the fender and comes out behind the bumper cover. You can seal it but it would be harder to close the trunk and you would have a higher pressure inside your trunk...
On the upside I don't think you can hear them from inside the car...
