I need two 12's, a box and an amp. I dont want it for competition use but to really hit me when im listening to hip hop/rap. I can pay like 500 for the equipment or even better 600 if u want to install it around the ny area. What do you guys suggest. Who gives good deals around here?

 

Get adire audio shivas. Two of them - 115 each shipped. These things hit very clean, I have them, and I'm in the nyc area. Build your own box, and get a jbl 1200 watt amp. With wiring and own speaker box that should run you about 600. Its a killer setup without compromising sq or spl.

 

Where Can I get those shivas? Im not a carpenter I have never built a box in my life. I dont even ahve the tools to do so. Thats why im trying to pay. I would even pay 700 for everything with install.

I would build you that system for 700 bucks. Subs, box, amp, wiring. I'd be making about a 100 bucks on you. You live in bklyn, I'm in queens. I could show you what mine sounds like. Also, do you have bose or no?

 

Non bose but gxe tape deck and nissan in dash 6 cd player. Yeah I would definitely like to hear how your system sounds and if its good then we can definitely talk about doing business.Would you install it too?

 

Sure. Couple of things. You would have to come see me as I have blown my 5spd tranny lol and have to fix it. Second I'm going away on vacation for 2 weeks on the 25th of may. So if you like how what I have sounds, you could order everything and I coudl install it when i get back, including building a box for you. I have to look into how difficult it would be to connect the amp to the stock deck. You'd probably be better off upgrading the head unit though. I don't wanna drive your price up but its a suggestion.

 

I can do a set of used JL W3's with a 600 Watt lansar amp

or your pick on any Rockford Fosgate, Hollywood, SAS itmes...

If you need it installed that too can be worked out..!

I don't see a reason why you would want W3's over a shiva. And why would you want a lansar amp with 600 watts when you can have a 1200 jlb one that usually pushes over 1200?

 

Because Lanzar is Lanzar and JBL is JBL. Does anyone care about distortion anymore?

 

How much distortion can you hear on a subwoofer with a class d amp? I don't think very much, that jbl is better imo.

 

I hear it... If you don't compare (by swapping amps), you'll never know... Lanzar has always made high quality equipment... Personally, I'm not too fond of JBL... I'm not saying it's junk.... Just my opinion....
