New HU...problem with radio!! Help!!

I installed the AIWA mp3 HU in my 94 altima. I used a wire harness to intall and everything is fine expect the radio. When I turn on the radio the reception seems very weak. Sometimes I get no signal at all. I am pretty sure the wires are connected correctly. The radio was perfect before with the stock HU..what else can be wrong?

Is the power antenna wire ( probably blue) connected on the harness? If so, and I know this is stupid but did you connect the actual antenna? Im assuming this has the Diversity system like most Nissans where you needed an adapter for the wire. And finally does your power antenna go up? BTW if you do not have a power antenna I have no
F(*%& clue!

i have to agree here...diversity antennas can do screwy things to your aftermarket hu without a proper adapter. this is one place where 'ghetto' doesnt work AT ALL!
