Bosed question??

Bosed question??

Can i just unplug the amp from the BOSE speaker and run the wire directly to the speaker from the aftermarket Headunit?????????

I wouldn't advise it. The Bose speakers are supposedly 1 ohm which means your headunit will not like driving them.

i thought we found out the 2k2s are 4 ohm, cuz we can switch out the speakers no prob.

Yea, but I thought Alex had a 4th gen...

If you're going to keep the bose speakers and put in the aftermarket hu, I'd get the adaptor for that purpose because of said impedance issues, not to mention without the amp/active eq, the boses would only sound worse (dunno how worse, but probably just like any other paper cone factory speaker in other cars).

If you put in new speakers...then I'd advise running new wire in the way you mentioned. AFAIK you dont have to unplug the amps - I didn't. But then again, I have no plans for any rear fill...and with the stock harnesses, one has the rear speaker wires + the remote wire for the factory amps. So I just left that harness off, hence factory amps don't turn on anymore.
