get a metra dash kit. they are probably the best fitting ones made, and they look nice. youll probably end up with a pocket underneath.

then theres the custom setup idea...i wanna take out that trim panel, and make that double din gap disappear. im either gonna mount a 7" 16:9 lcd in there, and the cd player below, or ill just make the cd player sit in the middle of the 4" gap.

I think the gap is a tad bit bigger than just DIN-sized, so if you buy a DIN EQ, there will still be a little sliver there. The metra kits work well, although I've never seen how a metra kit installs in a car where the space is exactly DIN-sized width-wise.

I think I'm going to go the custom route eventually and make a vented plate...I'm keeping mine open for now so I don't have to take the dash apart for the 2nd half of my install...and man, does it get hot under the CD player. I knew it got warm back in there, but with my deck powering my door speakers, it gets extra hot, so I'd like to keep some air moving through there. Maybe mount a little 12v 80mm case fan on the top of the center console pocket...
