she's not going down all the way

I lube my automatic antenna after every car wash and now she's not going down all the way. The same thing happened to my wife's Altima. Is this something that just happens as the car gets older or is there a way to keep this from happening. Can I correct it without having to remove it?

Try a search, I read before that you should use something besides WD40, don't remember what was recommended though.....

some ky jelly might help..

i think the wd40 might make it worse, it might dilute the grease that used to be in there. u might wanan try some heavy weight grease.. that zinc stuff should do fine too.

Whenever I encounter this problem I just give her head a little push, usually gets her down the rest of the way....

hmm i don't think wd40 is a good idea... it's not much a lube as much it is a tool for loosening a bolt. good for a temp fix though...
I would find a lube/oil type thing instead. like was mentionned above.
I'm sure a search will let give you a better name than "lube/oil type thing"

try using wheel/bearing grease for the antenna
if that does not work out then maybe you need to take your max to the dealer and see if they cant adjust the limiter on the antenna motor(for lack of a better name) so that it goes down all the way

hope this helps

like everyone said..WD40 is better as a penetrant...so it will actually break up grease..and its also water based i belive..so use something esle
