Question About Removing Bose System

Hey, I was considering taking the whole Bose system out of my 99 max. Does anyone know how easy or difficult this task will be?

For those who did remove the whole system, what did you do with it? I was thinking about selling it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I yanked the head unit out, along with the front two speakers, but that's all. I'm not a rear-fill guy so I left the rear speakers in, along with the tweets, factory amps, and factory wiring. To make sure the amps wouldn't turn on, I left the second, smaller factory wiring harness unplugged, which contains the rear speaker wires and the factory remote wire.

I'm probably going to get rid of the max when it's paid off (two more years), and plan on probably yanking my audio equipment, and just giving the buyer the head unit and speakers, and leaving any installation up to him/her.

Did you install woofers for the rear?

At this point I actually want to take out the whole system (including everything that came with the system [wires, speakers, amps]).

I just don't know if it would be practical to remove all the wiring. Would any of you guys who have removed the Bose recommend doing so?

Do you think anyone out there would be willing to buy the whole Bose system?

Thanks.

Nah, I just left the bose woofers in the rear inactive. All I want is a frontstage & my sub.

I would feel bad selling the Bose system to anyone for money - they'd have a BIG issue on their hands if they ever wanted to upgrade/change/replace/fix any part of the system, not to mention it would be a big pain to mount all amps and do the wiring similar to the way it originally was in your car. And it'd be hard for the bose speakers to fit in a lot of cars w/o modification.

Chances are if you wanted to sell it to someone, they would have to have a decent amount of car audio knowledge to install it, and then, they wouldn't want that system. You'd practically have to lie/leave out certain facts about the bose system for someone to want it.

The only other thing I could think of is, you could sell individual parts to .org members/max drivers that want to keep their bose but have one malfunctioning part, etc.
