Upgrading existing HU.. Stick w/ Pioneer or Change Brand?
I am looking to upgrade my HU this summer. I'm thinking if I stick with Pioneer, I can still keep my Pioneer 6-CD changer in place. At the same time, I may want to add a DVD/Monitor next year. What specs do I need to look out for on the new headunit?

Ideas
I just put in the Pioneer AVH-P7480DVD and an in dash Pioneer 6 disk changer in place of the stock system. I am so glad I did it. The difference in sound is tremendous. My sub box hits much harder now. Before it seemed like the amp was doing all the work. Plus the fricken left side would fade in and out on the stock CD player. I would have to hit the dash with my hand to get it to come back again. Best MOD ever in my opinion.

Not a bad radio. I can actually beat the price and Im in NJ too
My $.02..change the radio though. For the same price or less, you can do an Eclipse. Much better quality, although no "cool" little pictures. The drawback is not playing MP3s. If you are actually interested in the 930MP give me an Email and I can check the price for ya. It is def cheaper than that and you dont have to pay/wait for shipping !

I know it may not be up to par but if you're thinking of getting a DVD/CD + 7" TFT screen combo. I'd suggest the Panasonic CY-VMD9000U on clearance from Cartoys.com for $897. The FM Tuner is another $250 or so. That's at least 1/2 off.

Thanks for the info. This is the older model though, it's a 2001 model i think and is already on it's way out.

Im not sure if its that model as well, but the newer Panasonic DVD setup has alot of trouble reading burnt CDs. Pretty nice piece but just giving heads up on it !
