Anyone had Eclipse ESN security probs?

I just completed some work on my car that required a battery removal. Go to start my car, and the Eclipse 5342r asks for my key CD. I insert to no avail. Eclipse says that my local dealer cannot solve my problem that they need to have it back to unlock it. Now I'm going to be w/o it for 2 weeks, including the holiday road trip I'm going on. Anyone had this happen to them? I wish there was another way....

No you don't need to send it in. Do you have the newer line of Eclipse units? As long as you have it registered, all you need to do it call them up and they will take you through the process to reset the ESN security. They exact same thing happened to me when I was removing my battery to do my CAI install. I arced the battery and I think I killed to CD key info. Make sure that once you have the unit reset that you get a new CD as your CD-key. I have not had a problem yet since I reset the unit. If you need more info, just respond.

I was told that the series I have cannot be reset "in the field" by my local dealer and the Eclipse rep over the phone said that the unit "does not have a rolling code." FYI it is a 5342r.

Oh man...that totally sucks!!! Yeah, the model I have, the 8051 can be reset in the field. I'm guessing that you are unfortunately SOL. Sorry!
