Got rid of most of trunk rattle

Just wanted to let anyone who has this problem know that I got rid of most of my rattle. It used to sound like a tin can. I have 2 12's firing backwards into the trunk. Yesterday I got fed up with the trunk lid flexing about 1.5 inches everytime the bass hit so i decided to do something about it. I bought some of that spray foam stuff from home depot. Its not "great stuff" but some other similar foam that doesnt expand, it came in a black can, I can't think of the name of it. I sprayed in about 6 cans of it in the back of the trunk lid after taking off the carpet cover & the lid off the car. Well a few hours later I listened to it while the foam was still wet, but it made a nice difference. I taped up the holes in the trunk lid with masking tape so it wouldnt come out and possibly drip in the trunk. Seven cans of this stuff would have been the perfect amount, but at 5 bucks a can its not that cheap. Hope this helps anyone that might be looking for a solution. Anyway, it did improve interior sound and I think it was worth the $30 I spent on it.

Mono expandable foam---it is used to fill holes in do0rways and stuff

I too used it. I got the tripple expand works good but after a while it will separate from the metal due to the bass, But will still deaden the sound

i would reccomend u letting it dry for 24 hours b4 using the bass

So you are saying it is a temporary mod.

The name of it was dap. Came in a black can. Get the not expanding one, or else you'll have a mess. Make sure you also tape up the holes through which you sprayed in the foam or it will ooze out slowly. THis really made a difference, and I don't think it will be a temporary mod.
