that bish doesn't use aim because he's so popular. Pick an Eclipse h/u from Don, those prices are real nice. Any of them should suit you well.

Hey Don, I hear from a friend that Diamond audio is suppose to be really good. I was wondering how much would the 6.5" components for the fronts cost? And also how much would 6.5" coaxials cost for the rears?

If you said/posted this 3-4yrs ago I would have agreed. Since then the company went to crap with their products and eventually went under only to be owned by someone else. The primary financials were from hair care products and it didnt last too much after the products went down hill.

Hey Don,

What speakers are best for the buck? Also since your down talking about JL, what is a better company to look for? In subs I want good bass but nothing to outrageous.

please, no more posts until you give a budget to work with in total. that includes all speakers, amps, subs, box, and wiring. Get rainbow SLC's from don, along with rainbow coaxials in the rear. get an eclipse radio from don, and then pick subs according to the budget that is left over. I would recommend 1 12" sub in a sealed box.

My budget I would say is around $700. For the sub, I was thinking about getting 2 10" instead of a single 12".

Hey All,

I've been trying to read up on all my audio options, and have a few questions myself. I've recently picked up a 2002 SE 6MT with a Non-Bose stock radio. Wow does this thing suck. Very disappointing.

Based on my limited experience, I plan on changing the HU first. This one sounds like crap. I plan on upgrading my stereo in stages, so that's why I'm starting with the HU. Then, once installed, I'll see how bad the stock speakers need to be upgraded.

My needs/requirements are as follows:
1.) Want decent radio coverage (stock seems to suck) as I travel and will not be purchasing Sat anytime soon.
2.) Want something with decent output for the Stock Speakers, but something that can handle upgrades later down the line (speakers, possible amp, ect).
3.) Plays Burnable CDs. MP3 CDs a plus.
4.) Aux Input. This can be in the front or rear (possible adapt required).

Nice to Have:
1.) Integrate steering wheel controls.

Budget = Probably about $300. Somewhat flexible.

Next question is in regards to the stock speakers. Do I replace them or are the ok with a new head unit?

Finally, if going with a Single DIN unit, where would you recommend picking up a wiring harness and adapter kit?

Thanks All,
- Zack

nothing...he's got the car audio bug. If you had some Rainbows in the MIA, you will have better speakers than 99% of the people down here.

zgendron: all those eclipse hu's would step up your sq, and adding an amp or 2 with components and a sub(s) could be done gradually in stpes.

why 2 10's? with 700 thats a lot more money.. if not in the subs themselves then in the box and the space theyd take up. stick with 1 12 or even a nicer 10 if you have problems with space and save yourself some money that you can spend on parag's rainbows. 205 shipped is a good deal, and paired with one of those eclipse hu's youll be well on your way... then start looking at amps
