Home Audio Sub Problem
Home Audio Sub Problem
Guys I just hooked up a older Sony home theater system my wife had and I'm having troubles with the powered sub.
The manual says to use a monaural rca for the hook up. I'm not sure what that is but I've used a directional rca and a standard rca cable and I can't get the sub to work. It powers up fine but no audio is produced.
I assume one of those two rca's I used is the correct one, yes? Is there anyway to test the sub out to make sure that's the issue before I unload the cash on a new one?
Btw, the rest of the audio system works beautifully. I guess it could be the receiver but I doubt it. That's why I would like to test the sub.

Any other way the sub can be hooked up? I have seen powered subs that actually need the speakers hooked up threw it. It's going to be hard to help you not really knowing anything about the system and or reading the manual.
