Does anyone drift with their max??

This is my first post in the autoX forum.

So, does anyone drift with their max while autoXing?? Is it possible to drift a front wheel drive car(without using the e-brake)?

I think pretty much using the e-brake is the only way to do it.

I think you are talking about oversteering ... drifting is 4 wheel sliding sideways, and yes (yow-za) you do NOT need to use your parking brake ... With proper tire pressures (optimal) your car is set-up, coming out of curves exceeding max traction of ALL 4 Tires. IMO the car is 'dailed-in' at this point ... my .02 (15 yrs of A-X exp)

Easy

I have done it in matt's max. One day our local autox was hosting a driving school. I was supposed to instruct in it but we had a tropical storm role through and we had to cancel the school. But the course was left up and it was raining cats and dogs. SO matt and I took his car out. Pirelli P Zero Front tires, Cooper Cobra (DEAD) rear tires and a I believe the stillen rear sway bar. This was my first time in FWD but I understood the concepts behind it. I drove that thing soooo unbelievable sideways Through the course and some how managed to never hit a cone or spin. We took some guys from the local business for a ride and they swore it was rear wheel drive. It was pretty simple to do. You Aim to the inside of the corner (so if you don't slide you'll hit the cone) Left off the gas Abruptly crank in a little bit of counter steer as it starts to come around, But not enought counter steer to slow down the rotation. Wait till the very very last second to start applying gas again. Some wittness's said I had at least a 20 second slide. Soon as you go back to gas your slide is going to end real soon so the key is sitting it up so you don't have to go to gas for as long as possible and getting the car to rotate so that it's pointing you where you want to go.

O i drift, but the E brake helps a ton. With right set up its possible. GIve it a shot on an open parking lot right after rain or something
