Anyone ever get the rear beam bent for zero toe?

This is a popular mod for the B14 se-r's and G20s. It would improve the handling without having to run alot of front camber. Here is some info on bending the rear beam to achieve zero toe Link 1 Link 2.

- Nice. From what the SR20 guys were saying on those two links, the zero rear toe really helps out.

- I'd love to do this, but my budget won't allow it. Any takers?

Being in Los Angeles, head to the shop the SE-R guys love to use... Darren @ West End Alignment in Gardena!

For auto-x bending the rear beam out to zero toe is supposed to help, but IIRC the road racers usually leave it at 1/8" for better stability... I think? (I could be wrong, it's early in the morning for me!)

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SoCal-SERCA (for SERCA-southwest members only, I think) has quite a bit of info on this if you use the search.

"Stability" in road racing is a polite way of saying "***** understeer." Zero toe all the way, baby. Real drivers (aka, autocrossers) can handle oversteer better than those limp-wristed road racers.

Me biased? Never!

Statistically, I think that once every 25-30 years or so, a driver/spectator/photographer is killed in an AutoX. I can't speak for morons in empty parking lots, but the above stat is from what I've gathered in my two years of racing.

More often then you think.

Believe it or not it's more often then you think. Most rules that seem crazy are there because someone has died because of it. The spotter for the camera man was started because someone was killed her in Tallahassee I belive about 15 years ago. The rule for the Roll bar needed for a 5 point belt in convertables is because of an MG in Atlanta. Pretty soon I expect to see some rules pop up about course worker locations after seeing the Z06 go though 2 of them in Ft. myres. A few years back My trailer hitch on my miata took the fire extinglisher with me as I slid backwards though a Corner worker station (that trailer hitch saved my rear bumper more times), thankfully everyone there saw my 70mph 100+ yard slide coming. Then there was the subaru that ended it's day in the corner of a big freight box at ft.myres. accidents do happen. I'm sure everyone has seen the video of the vette going though spectators in lawn chairs. I think the simple solution is to out law corvettes from autoxing. The world will be safer. just so happens of all the accidents i've seen at autoxes about 60% envolve a corvette.

Hey now, don't hate... our friends at www.nissanperformancemag.com include some very respected Nissan tuners, and they prefer 1/16" rear toe on the beam. They're also the ones running 1:36's and 1:40's at Streets of Willow Springs, while the best Maxima guy here in California only runs a 1:40 (!)...

Edit: i lied. Plenty are doing 0 toe too.

Now that is funny. Put a autoxer in a car traveling 130+mph on the back straight, then a late brake into a 180 degree corner (turn 11) and see who is the better driver.

Oversteer during a highspeed 100+mph corner is not what you want.

BTW, I know your joking.

I got my alignment done and my rear camber is -0.9 and .15 toe on the driver side and .30 toe on the passanger side... which is out of spec anyway to fix this?

My toe is higher on the rear passenger too, .07 vs .24. Haven't really worried bout it since it's not on the front.
