Yea Mitch I see what you mean. Most Instructers would frown on taping a stopwatch to your steering wheel. I am consistantly (relatively) slow. Can't seem to get under 2:30. My car would run F Class PCA and the best racers are below 2:15. I have ridden in a car doing around 2:15 and its damn scarey. My buddy did a 2:07 in his 964 Cup last weekend, but blew his engine on the next lap shifting down to 2nd at the toe.

do they have timers that you can rent at the track?

the tracks around here are now renting transponders for the day so that you can get printed timeslips and such after each session
