how much will suspension help?

I have a '97 GXE with the stock suspension. I also have Nitto Extreme Performance tires, but i need another couple hundred bucks to buy my new shocks and springs. Right now im getting some horrible traction on my corners. how much will the upgraded suspension help my traction and performance on drag and corners?

Driver talent not withstanding, suspension does matter. For drag power, tires, weight, then suspension. For cornering tires, suspension, weight, then power.

Stiff springs help to reduce wheelhop and prevent squat. They also help reduce roll/lift/dive in corners and keep all tires planted. First I moved from stock to Eibach/Koni and that was a good improvement. Then last year I moved to Cattman Gen3's and that again was as much of an improvement.

Not convinced? Come on down to Alsip, IL this Sunday to see for yourself what suspension can do. I'm at a severe size & weight disadvantage against other cars but it doesn't stop me. Depending on rules we might be able to do ride alongs in Maximas, Sentras, and maybe even a G35 if we ask very nicely.

Ever notice how a lot of the FWD cars at the autox tend to dogleg (lift up the inside rear tire) when cornering? Looks kind of funny, but it works because they can keep less weight on the overloaded outside front tire and more weight on the underloaded inside front tire.

IMO you should get a largish rear swaybar if you don't have one already. I put a Stillen RSB on my 2k1 Max and it transformed the car. Much less understeer. Better traction coming out of corners. No noticable effect on ride quality.
