oh my.

I was in the Marine Corps and was on the flight deck of a carrier when Harriers were taking off, I was around Cobra's and Huey helicopters all the time.

Nothing prepared me for the rush of these Indy cars. It was amazing. If you have never been to see an IRL race, I highly recommend you go. I was just ****ed that Infiniti wasn't racing anymore...are they racing in CART? I guess CART will be back next year, but Indy cars ROCK!

260mph in the straights!

I was sitting 7 rows back in Turn #1. Saw the AJ Foyt IV crash first hand. Scarey, scarey ****.

I used to watch them when they came to Charlotte many moons ago. Once Infiniti pulled out of it I completely lost interest.

Infiniti has never raced in CART. They debuted in the IRL, along with Oldsmobile , in '96 or '97 when the IRL was born and pulled out when Toyota and Honda jumped in.

Infiniti has their own series now called the Infiniti Pro Series which is essentially the same cars but with only 450hp powered strictly by Infiniti engines.

 

that was a mad crash... foyt's. i was hoping hornish jr would win it but got entangled in that 3 car crash that ended up in the pits. he was on a good pace too. almost all the toyota cars were out by the end of the race.
were you there the entire time from the rain delay to the end of the race? that was a crazy start after the delay. wooweee. good race tho.

 

was asleep in the car during the rain delay and about the first 30 minutes after it started back up..

strangley enough, they let you bring coolers in, so beer doesn't cost $5 each like at a baseball or football game..

At tne NASCAR races I've been to, they don't even sell beer inside the track area.. you have to bring it in yourself, and you're limited in size on the cooler you can bring (it must fit on the floor of the bleachers in front of your seat).. it's like 15x15x18 or something like that.

but cram as much beer in it as you want- as long as there's no glass!
