Holy crap!
I can't believe they'd let that many cars on track at once.
they won't let more than about 35 on the track at our 2.9 mile course locally.

OMG thats alotta cars. Personally Id have gotten out and told that lady I didnt grid right and asked for her name. Then (the fact that he had a camera going helps) I would have told the stewards after the race.

VIR is a little over three miles long in full course config. My second ever for real race was in ITA at VIR in 2000 and we got combined with ITS for a total of a about 42 cars on track. Originally Posted by Matt93SE

Sorry about that man. The hardest thing I had to learn was all the nice behavior I learned in High Performance Driving Events goes out the window when it's real racing...you have to be mean without looking like an ***...
It's also the reason why IF I race again, it will probably NOT be with SCCA. I'm seriously thinking NASA. The SCCA is stuck in the past man.
What would be the difference between the way people act on track in SCCA and NASA?
I can see the way things are run, but what's the difference from a driver/competitor standpoint?
(I've been contemplating whether to go to SCCA or NASA myself since both run in the area on a regular basis)

NASA has (or used to) have rule just like BMW Club Racing which basically says, if you are involved in a racing accident, you get put on probabtion. If it happens again, you're out and can't run for a period of time. I believe it's called the 13/13 rule. SCCA has no such rule, and if you've ever watched an IT race, you'll understand. It's real surprising to see the amount of wrecks and general on-track behavior from some of these guys that are fully licensed. Some have a reputation and nothing's really done about it...Of course, again, all of thios applies to competitive racing, not high performance driving events..Originally Posted by Matt93SE
