I found a video somebody posted of the last car I ever expected to see at an autocross....this was at one of the CDC events last month. I was sitting right below where the video was taken snapping some still pics of it
the sad part was, he put up better times than quite a few "autocross" cars (including cutler's miata)...

The guy in the wagon I would guess was in his late-20s or early 30s....the word I heard is that he had ALOT of new mods upcoming for that beast, including alot more power and more suspension stuff....will be interesting to see later this month if he's there....Originally Posted by DrKlop

the 911 was actually running RIGHT before me (talk about bad staging for me...even going slow he LOOKED faster than me). The 911 was bone-stock except for tires(Azenis), and driven by a guy in his 60s. i talked to the guy for a while and it was apparent that the car was really his baby - truly, it looked showroom-new and it was a '91 I think! I'm positive he wasn't pushing it hard, and just wanted to have a little fun in it. Didn't seem like the kind of guy who cared one bit about his times! He was also having some kind of engine issue with the car after the morning runs, not really sure what the problem was though...but I saw him messing with the engine.
The RX-7 was actually a wide-body conversion. It looked mean, and had quite a powerful (way souped-up) engine....but his tires really sucked and he really couldn't use the power at all. He had just finished a project with his turbo and seemed more like he was doing "test and tune" rather than really pushing it anyhow.
.... not now...
