Food for thought: Classing by....wheelbase?

Just a random thought....no idea why, but this is what happens when I'm stuck at home on Saturday Night.

why hasn't autocross ever been classed with wheelbase as a consideration? Power-weight and drivetrain are all nice, but a short-wheelbase car (read: Mini, Civic hatch, etc) has a HUGE inherent advantage over a long-wheelbase car (read: any full-size sedan). I wonder why this has never been addressed

just a discussion topic, nothing more.

I'd rather slit my wrists than enter into discussion with that bunch of solos2 elitists. All they do on the scca forums is drop names, drop more names, and then discuss nationals for a while....while dropping names.

Those forums suck for the "weekend warrior" autocrosser, because everyone there is caught up with proving how hardcore they really are. There is no room for "casual" discussion of topics.
