n00b ? on Foaming Chassis
n00b ? on Foaming Chassis
Alright! My name is 95BlkMax, and I am a n00b to this autoX forum,
LOL! It seems as tho in the past whenever I'd glance here I'd see something about foaming the chassis, but now that Im actually looking for it, I find nothing. I tried the stickies, google, and just found link>link>link, so BLAH!
Where do you guys get this foam from? Also, Im aware that there's different weights to that foam, what is the weight you guys are using and why? ... My chassis is in great need of stiffening, and until SFCs get released for the 4th gen again, foaming is the next best thing (along with the ES bushings, Im working on that too). Thanks for the help.
EDIT- flame me all you want if necessary, I know Im a noob at this stuff, Im here to learn, :-)

Also since you like 300z's so much I found you an article related to the car and the foam. so u can thank me twice, for the foam in chassis section scroll to the end of the article its the last topic and very informative. heres the link http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/pr...scc_proj300zx/
I also read someone say online that you can go to an infinity dealer and see if they sell the foam because infinity uses it alot on their cars specially the Q45.
another link where i found the article. its a silvia forum, http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=40783

It's a foam that you can inject into your frame rails for stiffening. It's very common in newer luxury cars to stiffen the chassis without adding bracing.

:attention
nope theres no how-to on it. I assume you would need some kind of device to inject the foam into the rails, and also you would have to cover open holes that the rails might have so that the foam does not leak out..
