No current pictures/installs, no care.

WS isn't getting any of my money anyways.

All the best with this though.

I called for 2 months, every week I was told to call back next week when they will be done I don't trust him. I was told this moving into the new shop in NOV 05, the lady told me the same damn thing everytime I called.

They've been moving into their new shop since the middle of last summer when I was up there swapping an engine in one of their 3rd gen 'project cars'...

you guys...they did move into their new place...but lost their lease shortly thereafter I hear...so now they are moving back for the last 2 months...before all of this moving business and from my experiences, they have been great company...very trustworthy, quick, knowledgeable and customer service friendly...but ever since the moving stuff they have been a little MIA...I think we should cut them a little slack...as every company has a period where they go through hard times and logistics problems...

Yes but a simple, "we wont be making any for the next 5 months" would have saved my time...

yeah..but I am sure they don't really know fer sher how long it's gonna be...but I do agree...they should rather say: "we don't know" instead of leading you on...

however, I think since they have produced such great quality product in the past, and since they have for the most 3 employees in the entire company or something, I think we could give them a little leniency/immunity for the time being...as I certainly have no reservations that Dallas' intentions are anything other than good, as if you have talked to you him you would realize that he is in fact, not a malicious business entity....

Yeah, one of my good friends has had good dealings with him.

Some reason everytime I called Dallas was "busy"

I am not argueing whether or not they have a good business model, but rather that we cut them some slack for an obviously trying time for them...

I just got off the phone with Dallas...
If anyone is interested in SFC's they'll have to call in sometime next week and put an order in.
He's not interested in doing any kind of group deal on the .org for SFC's.
My set is shipping out tomorrow morning

Do we have any guarranties (sp*) that he'll actually go through with the orders? Because I was one of the many people that would call and would be told "they'll be ready in 2 weeks". What about all the people that during the summer actually placed the orders on their saying they'll be ready soon, and never happened?

I dont mean to sound harsh about Dallas and WS at all, but as a business owner I think he owes it to the org to redeem himself for that whole "half-truths" episode of the SFCs that went on for almost a year. Making it into a group deal will at least create a window for the rest of the org to keep track of who has placed orders and who later receives it. This would help to make up for their shattered customer service reputation (as far as SFC orders go, I've heard nothing but good stuff about ordering exhaust parts) and hopefully rebuild it to its former status...

just my 2 cents

Once there is proof that these orders are in fact being completed, I'll be in line for stage 2s

Lol good call. BTW if piper determines that the old design was good I have what I feel is a good improvement to the center section to make it connect to the tabs on the frame rails as if it were welded in but with the convienence of using bolts. I am just trying to find a way to model what I am thinking of before I post the idea.

interesting....I've more or less decided to hold off on this for the time being. I'm enjoying running STX and DSP class autocross, where I can finish near the top of my class. Being a winner is FUN!

Finishing near the bottom of SM...not as much fun.\

Plus, I'm getting a bit bored with working on the maxima at this point. Jonesin' to get back into the classic sportscar scene.

I was thinkin about chassis foaming but then again this is my daily driver. In my weekend racer I woul foam the chassis but forget that I'm just gonna go with a roll cage. I dont think foam would make a sinificant difference if the car already has a roll cage unless its the structural supports outside of the cage and even then I dont think I'll ever get good enough at driving to get my limits high enough to need something like that. A cage would already add weight, I thin foam on top of it would again just be extra weight.

Chassis foam doesn't weigh much and it reduces road noise transmitted through the chassis, in addition to its stiffening properties...so I really don't see any drawbacks to chassis foaming.

There is a technical paper someone posted on the Org which shows that foam does make a large difference, especially in the joints/corners of chassis/frame components. So it could stiffen even a roll cage.

I was one of the people who posted about it. I think there was one person who posted about it before me. Eveything you said was true, you correctly stated all the great points about chassis foam, but there are some down sides as well. For one the foam is flammable so forget welding on or around any parts that are foamed or doing any cutting with a torch. Thats not so bad but most of the real problems come with if its not done properly. If you were to foam the frame rails you would need to make sure they prepped them accordingly as anything in the frame rails will be stuck there forever as the foam surrounds it and traps it there. If any moisture is not removed before the foam is applied it will hold the moisture to the inside of the frame rail and it will rust from the inside out. Also if they put too much foam in there and dont measure it out correctly it could either spill out all over the car as it expands, which would make quite a mess as it starts to harden quite quickly and once it does its impervious to all known solvents and thats better than the alternative if it expands more than anticipated and it has no where to go it will keep expanding regardless and stretch out its steel surroundings or blow them out. Also If you get into an accident I dont know who your gonna bring your damaged part to to fix it if its been foamed. I dont even know how they'de fix that. Also if the foam doesnt adhere correctly (because of in proper prep work) I'm sure it could rattle around in some areas as time went on.

Fortunately, that's the easiest kind of problem to solve... Make sure it's done properly.

I.E. take it to someone who does it for a living and has a good reputation, etc....
