Taking the Maxima on high speed autocross again

Well, its that time of year. Last year i took my Maxima to the Lone Pine Time Trials, a high speed autocross. Last year I hit over 110 mph on the straightaway. This year, it will be more!! I leave this Fri morning and race Sat and Sun. Ill take many pics and show u. Last year I placed 3rd out of 15, against formidable opponents like M3 and Lotus Elise. Lets see how I do this year with more mods but tougher class.

i was under the impression you can't race in some of the higher up classes without a 5-point harness and helmet - esepcially in the autox classes where passing is allowed

jing: I not only want a harness, but I would love to have more supportive seats. I think Performance Nissan has some harnesses but the stealership is too expensive. Tell me what you have.

best harness out is TAKATA harness
best seat IMO is bride buckets with the full 180degree recline.
the thing is takata harness is green which is known all over japan for the best harness. mmm id show pics but i duno how =x

bride url http://tees-usa.com/
takata url http://www.takata.com/English/Produc...intHarness.htm

also deus are you selling any body parts from your car?
i could use some like stock front bumper

bride seats range for about 500a seat maybe 350 if lucky
and takata belts are about 350a belt
but keep in mind deus that 5point seats are bolted on your rear seats so no rear seats lol.

wtf is going on here? I've never seen so many 6th genners in the autocross/road race section!!

btw, doesn't sound like this is an autocross event, it sounds like road racing....110 mph straights are not SCCA Solo2, that's for sure.....are these cone courses, or actual road courses?

It is a SOLO 2 but its not sanctioned under SCCA. It does however follow SCCA rules. The time trials are a high speed autocross. The 2.5 mile course is set up with cones and contains options, slaloms, and twists at the beginning and end and high speed gates in the middle. Its quite a rush swerving from one side to the other at speeds of over 70 mph!!! Two yrs ago, I rented a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spider and placed 2nd in my class (my Spec V was a week old and I couldnt bear to race it). Anyway, its a blast. Anyone who lives in Calif should come out to it and enter. Its in Lone Pine California and we get people from all over entering. It was much larger years ago but entry has gone down over the years. After the Saturday race, a lot of us head to Jakes Saloon for some brews. Lots of fun.

Irish,
I think I remember this guy, he ran one of these a while ago running the number 666(right?)
It's certainly not SCCA, but a lot of groups like EMRA, NASA etc..let people run in SCCA Solo I type courses without all the SCCA rules.....that's why the SCCA started this whole PDX thing they started trying last year.

AS far as 6th genner in the auto-x forum...the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.
I will drive (even to a CDC event) to see Chernmax run an auto-x or at VIR or something...

edit: the thread was moved from the 6th gen forum, that's why there is ANY 6th genners in here...

I think all of Chern's "bling" might scare the cones out of the way......

Well, at least you DRIVE your car and it's not some kind of dyno queen or something.
Are you going to take some in-car vid? Because from what I remember from your picts last time, it would be a very cool video to watch.

STS allows cars with normally aspirated engine under 3.1 liters only (and a few low-boost turbo cars).....you will need to run STX with the 3.5, which allows engines up to 5.1 liters. Only us 5.0 genners and earlier can run STS

Don't feel bad, I run STX with my 3.0 (my wheels are not STS legal)
