Nashville Time Trials
Last weekend the Chattanooga Region SCCA hosted the Nashville Time Trials at the Nashville Super Speedway. The course included the road course infield and the front banked straight. As a perk the workers were allowed to drive the course at a "moderate" speed. I had the Max up to 130 going across the finish line, but got a serious a$$ chewing when I got back in. Main reason I wanted to push it a little was to collect some engine data. I was able to finally find the hole in my fuel map.
Here are a few pics.
Front straight, going about 70mph.
Camera man rode with me for a few laps. Here I was going about 120, although it doesn't look like it. High speed shutter I guess.
Pulling into the pits to start the data logger.
This was when the photographer got in. I guess he didn't notice the intercooler.
I was assistant starter, this was me at the butt crack of dawn setting up run groups, and organizing the order in which the pods would start. Kind of stressful, due to the fact that if the first car catches the last car in the pod in its 3 hot laps, the catcher gets 3 more laps, and puts everyone behind.

Sweet... Unfortunately, I'll be in VA next weekend, and miss out on the ETR AX on June 8... But the Old Dominion region is having one on June 1 that I may go to. It'll be 2 hours from where I'm staying (Wallops Island at the navy base). Oh yeah, and I'll be in VA for 2 months...

I've got some outstanding applications with USAjobs.com, and I've applied to a few gov't agencies in TN, but no offers yet. Speaking of which, I'll be in Wallops Island on Saturday... Long-*** drive that I'm too pansy to make in a single day

I know TVA is alway looking, but it takes an act of congress to get on. I tried to get in their internal audit division of the Inspector Generals Office, but it was like trying to join the CIA. I went public instead, much happier I think.

^ Amen! I applied for a position with their Nuclear Power Group based out of Chattanooga for either Browns Ferry, Sequoyah, or Watts Bar back in January, interview with a group of potentials in March, and still haven't heard anything...
I'm not holding my breath for them. I've got "promising" (read: interviews) with some other companies in East/Middle TN, so we'll see.
