Few shots from the season opener
a few of us went to the NCC BMW club season opener and it was a course with two super-slow technical sections/chicanes (going between concrete curbs) and a few wide-open areas up to 50-60mph. A fun course and I've never seen so many cones flying around.
Also happy that of my four runs, each one was 1 second or so faster than the previous and I beat my target time by about 8/10ths. I think I was 4th or 5th out of 15+ cars in one of the non-BMW classes. A couple fast STis with much camber beat me and a Mazdaspeed 3 who always is 1/2 sec up on me at most events....
Anyhow, a few pics with some Maxima/I30/mysubie/other content. Didn't take many.

I'm probably gonna go with G37s 14" rotors and a new caliper which is still twin piston but lighter than stock 5th gen calipers. It covers a larger area of the rotor too but it's not as fat as the 300zx calipers i'm currently running. So I should be able to run an 18" wheel still

I'm sure you can slum it wiht some Rotas like I do
Don't go any more aggressive offset than that...35mm might be better. The wider you put them out, the crappier your scrub radius is going to be in motorsports....

2pc is what I will probably be getting depending on availability. The whole setup will be one of the biggest, [hopefully] most effective, but one of the lightest setups anyone has ever put on a maxima. Just gotta wait for the developer to finish. And actually, another member on the .org will most likely have them on his car first.
Rotational weight is your enemy. And the bigger the wheel, the more rotational weight - no matter how light they are.
e.g. my 17lb 17s have FAR less rotational mass than a 16lb 19".....
Plus if you roll to an autocross with some dubs on there, everyone in the place will laugh at you...true story.

find some lightweight 18x8 with ET around 30 front and rear. Put some 235/40/18 Star Specs or RE11R's on it, and you'll be good to go.

Since you actually know how to drive, you'd be one of the fastest E46's out there I bet...

er.....when it comes to motorsports...."biggest wheels" are stark opposite of "most effective."

You'll be embarassed how much better your "street setup" works at auto X. small wheels, small brakes FTW when you're running around in a parking lot.
you don't even need brakes that big on a road course. not unless you have 500+hp, a badass suspension, and 12" wide Goodyear slicks.
