NNJR autox

I'm sure there are more max owners in the NY/NJ area but never see them at any autox. NNJR just started using the Meadowlands at the old Giants' stadium and the lots are huge.
They were just paved last week, so we are still breaking in the asphalt.

I was the very first run of the day on the track and managed to pull a 360. (above pic)

Had to get an instructor on my second run because of that.

I only run slicks in the front on my stock wheels. I'm not that competitive in autox, just having fun. I have the other 2 slicks mounted, but since i use it as a daily, there is no room for 4 wheels in the trunk.

Tire bags or trash bags will let you use the back seat area for the one or two tires that will not fit in the trunk. Consider the spare to be back seat cargo, put one of your race tires down in the well, and you ought to be able to shut the trunk on 3 race tires..

I can't tell if you have the R-comps on the rear tires or not. But if not . . .

Bad things have happened when slicks/R-compound tires were fitted only to the front with regular street tires that may even have been all-seassons out back. Seen it happen, actually, and as a consequence some regions may no longer let you pass tech that way.

BTW, I hope to make it up there once the weather cools off some.

Norm, the fronts are the race tires. It's not for space reasons that I don't run all 4, just convenience of leaving the 2 in the trunk. SCCA hasn't said anything about my setup yet, so I'm going as long as I can. Hope to see you up here soon.
