I don't see why anyone should be surprised... he sent a lot of money to someone he doesn't know. Even though we'd like to think this is a tight community, it's no better than ebay.

Thats how 100% of all transacations happen on the internet and yet more and more people are buying online. This has nothing to do with it, its the fact the guy is a thief and a scumbag and he would probably do it in real life also. An online thief is no dfferent then an offline thief. I just wish we had stronger laws against this stuff. Btw, try to contact paypal as well.

that's exactly what I said... if it happens in person you know a little about the person, but I don't care who the reference is, if you're buying from someone online and DON'T use a credit card, you're setting yourself up for getting ripped off one day.

USE A CREDIT CARD!! My wife works in that industry and, no matter what anyone says, she assures me you can get you money back if you use a credit card, no matter what.

And before the haters start, it's been her job for the past 2 years to deal with Visa and Mastercard and deal with chargebacks, reimbursements, etc. so no matter what you're told the FIRST time you're trying to get money back, keep it up because eventually you will win IF YOU USE A CREDIT CARD!

then you CAN get your money back and they WILL go after him... but they get hundreds / thousands of these every day so you need to be your own advocate and keep calling to get them to take up your case.

did you use your CC to send the $125? If so, yes, and deal with the CC company. If not, I have no idea, and you have to deal with PP.

Yes. There is absolutely nothing wrong with these springs. I used them for less than a year and had no noise problems at all. The only reason I switched them out was to go a little lower with B&G. They were not cut. As far as I know they are in perfect condition.
Now doesnt he seem legit...... I thought so.
I even delayed a day on the second pm.

I've had to use Paypal's buyer complaint form for an eBay transaction and they just refund the money if the seller can't prove that they sent it eg. tracking number or delivery confirmation.

I believe they just take it out of their bank account as when you sign up for Paypal it's in their terms agreement or something like that - check it out.

If you paid with a credit card, then you can dispute it with your bank, they give you a nice little form to fill out and it takes about a week or so to get the money back. Even though you sent the money to Paypal, the credit card company sees that payment transaction no different than if you sent it to a merchant. Most of the time the "merchant" cant even dispute it...it's very much a buyers ball game.

Using your credit card is about the safest way to trade online, because there are so many more safety nets that catch you should you get taken for a ride..... Another good one, and if you're dealing with more than $500 is escrow. It might cost a little bit more but the peace of mind is worth it.

Hope you get your $$ back !

He only got me for 125.00 , max4speed used a cc so he's ok i guess.

I have read that paypalsucks.com website and i did before when they charged me on some bs before. its just been the mainstream of buying and accepting cash online so thats why ive kept it. i hope the info of the tracking # stuff will pull through b/c ive heard NOTHING at all from this kid.

thanks org.
and thanks for those special pm's ,

That's good to hear you got your money back.

That's good, Discover does the most to get you your money back when you use Paypal. They will usually credit you the money back first, then go after him themselves. I got scammed once on Paypal, they credited my money back immediately and then went after the guy. AMEX is very good also about these things. Visa/MC just don't care. The one time I filed a chargeback through my Visa, it took 15 faxes, and 90 days before I saw my money.

And this isn't all personal experience, I know of some shops too who were on the wrong end of a Discover card dispute and they were amazed at how fast Discover took the money back.

The only thing you have to worry about is Paypal. They're idiots and will sometimes lock down your account if you file a chargeback without going through them first. And if you do go through them first, they will drag their feet and you may never see your money. It's a lose/lose with them.

man sorry to hear about this dude .. good luck !

org members ripping off org members is a BIG NO NO !

i had a bad situation with a salvage yard when i was searching for an ecu. i sent the ecu back it was the wrong one and he said no refunds and was going to keep the ecu. i said no way man thats against the law.

i got the Better Business Bureau, federal trade commision, Visa, and my bank to take care of it. lets just say the 150 appeared back in my account real quick.

remember guys, document and save everything ! you made need it !

internet fraud is against the law !

I havent read over that entire site recently but it does not seem to state the current facts that Paypal is now owned by Ebay and the customer service is 100 times better than it was. You can actually call someone now and get things resolved.

Our investigation of this complaint is now complete.

The seller did not respond to our requests for tracking information. Therefore, we attempted to award you a full refund. Unfortunately, there were insufficient funds available in the seller's PayPal account to complete the refund.

PayPal does not consider this a satisfactory resolution of this complaint. We have taken action against this seller's account until the complaint has been resolved.

No further action is required of you at this time.

We value your business and regret this experience. To make sure future transactions proceed smoothly, we suggest reading our Security Tips.

Any portion of the payment which was funded with your credit card will be refunded directly to your credit card. Credits to a credit card generally take 2-3 business days to post, and may not be immediately reflected in the card's balance.

Paypal will not refund the money IF the person who received it does not have any in the paypal account. Paypal will not pull money out of the users checking account without there permission even if they stole from you. If the person has money still in the paypal account paypal will refund it. I lost over $300 dollars to a .org member 2 yrs ago because paypal would not do jack for me. I still use paypal, but I am alot more careful who I deal with now. They basically said sorry, can't help you. The guy pulled his money out and we can't refund it. They said contact the internet FBI. I did all that, and got no where.
