Bad Mobiletek Experience-P.S. Offering $100 Reward

I sent Don @ Mobiletek $1000 for a VB mod (including core deposit) almost 6 months ago. I have tried endlessly to contact him, with no reponse for months. E-mails for updates, and refunds have been ignored. BE CAREFUL!

--- 8/4/02 UPDATE---
Don finally contacted me today and offered a refund. I will be happy once I actually get it.

I would NOT recommend doing bussiness

I encourage everyone who has this same problem (I do also) to contact the BBB.
BBB of Metropolitan Houston
5225 Katy Freeway, Ste. 500
Houston, TX 77007
Phone: (713)868-9500
Fax: (713)867-4947
Email: mlopez@bbbhou.org
WWW: http://www.bbbhou.org
File complaints and stop this from happening again. I also suggest that EVERYONE on this board be advised of the pi$$ poor customer service that we have suffered. I don't care how well this mod MAY work it is NOT worth the hassle to obtain and the utter lack of communication is not acceptable for any business.
Go here > http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=118094 to learn more about the effort that I have put into this and know that I can count on 1 hand the response giving by this so called company. MOBILETEK DOES NOT DESERVE THIS COMMUNITIES SUPPORT!
I can only say that the above mentioned experiance is not isolated and I will say DITTO to all of the comments.

Don contacted me privately. Stikya I send you an email about it. I'll help you get your money back, and you don't have to pay me the $100. I will also send this message to anybody else who would like to see it. PM me and let me know.

It will be my pleasure to help you with this guy.

p.s. I LOVE the VB upgrade and swear by it, even without my supercharger.

I'm sure some people have had no problem getting a great product from Don-that is not my issue. My issue is that I sent money 6 months ago, I have no product, and he won't even respond to my e-mails telling me the status of my order. THAT IS JUST UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. No one should have to wait that long for any product, and most companies, would have long ago offered me a refund just for the extended wait.

I imagine the product is great-I would love to have it. But, I can't seem to get it. THAT IS MY BEEF w/ DON!

Don contacted me.

If this was your doing, I appreciate your help; if you are ever in the Kansas City, MO area, drop me a line and we can go grab some dinner and drinks (on me, of course). If not, I definitely appreciated the offer.

If this was your doing, VR6Jim, I appreciate your help. (Since you didn't want any cash, if you are ever in the Kansas City, MO area e-mail me at Michael.Garrett@umb.com, & I'll buy you dinner.) If not your doing, I definitely appreciated the offer.

When the site and forums are used as they are intended, results usually occur.

I spent all day hitting emails, I've been out with an uncle who had a Liver transplant here last week, so I haven't been on much, but its all in the works.

As for Junior, all a coincidence, I assure you. This Jim character who emailed me this weekend, all the four-letter words he sent regarding his displeasure in Maximas (an average of 10+ per email), and all the built up rage over a 4 door sedan faster than his (or anyone else he knows, I usually don't respond to geniouses like this, but this kid needed his info straightened out. Thinking someone can email threats and other sorts of immature words will not get you far at all. Is all coincidental.....this kid isn't related to you guys at all (although sadly , he's related to someone), and I would not share ANY information with him (or anyone else) regarding an order, refund, shipment, etc. So no, he had nothing to do with it. At the same time, someone else sent me an email telling me they saw this post, and didn't use profanity at all.

I wouldn't buy him dinner, he may throw a fit if he doesn't get ice-cream after dinner.....

Duely noted.

I apologize, to you, if anyone took my offer as a reason to spew profanities or threats in your direction.

My intention was that someone who knew you (or that lived nearby) could physically go to your shop and speak with you, on my behalf. I assumed that was what had occured.

BTW: Did you get my response to your refund offer? Please e-mail me with the verdict.

Say what you want but at least you are now officially alive and offering these guys a refund. I just hope they get it and have learned from their experience.

Bad press has a way of waking the dead. Gotta be a Texas thing seems that the company that makes those y-pipes comes out of the woodwork when you talk about them too.

It sure seems like a coincidence allright, maybe a timeslip and video for the illusive 12.2 will appear as well, but I think that getting the money back is more imminent, miraculous and important than that happening.

Jim is my Son and regardless what you may think of him, I am proud of his accomplishments and his knowledge of racing. He calls a spade a spade and if you have a problem with that prove your time that was all he was asking. But it seems that because you can't do that you have to resort to a war of words.

A) This particular forum is here for addressing these issues, not every forum on the whole site.

B) There are no aftermarket y-pipe manufacturers in Texas.

C) Most of our aftermarket people are small and are WORKING COUNTLESS HOURS instead of sitting on the internet and praying you or anyone else will post regarding their product.

D) I will defend each and every one of them so they get some degree of gratitude from what is prodominantly a bunch of whiny kids demanding the world for free.

E) They get my respect because they work instead of going on the Montel or Rosie or Oprah shows and talk about their problems instead of doing what they can to address them.

I see another comment like this on a forum I moderate, you and your kid are banished from posting. Drop it immediately. You are trying to start static.

Jim is my Son and regardless what you may think of him, I am proud of his accomplishments and his knowledge of racing. He calls a spade a spade and if you have a problem with that backup your mouth that was all he was asking.

I guess you missed the part with all the profanity laced PM's to other members here as well and his calling Don a liar. But we'll stop uttering and discussing those pesky facts.

It was answered where it was addressed in the general forum.
B) There are no aftermarket y-pipe manufacturers in Texas.
Wow I thought WSP was an aftermaket Y-Pipe Manufacturer in Texas, guess I was wrong.

C) Most of our aftermarket people are small and are WORKING COUNTLESS HOURS instead of sitting on the internet and praying you or anyone else will post regarding their product.
Maybe so but that is where they advertise and make their money, much of their marketing is done on board just like this so yes they are just sitting around too waiting for someone to talk about their product.

D) I will defend each and every one of them so they get some degree of gratitude from what is prodominantly a bunch of whiny kids demanding the world for free.
What you do with your time and energy is up to you but I think a real job would be more productive. How you can defend a product or person who is ripping other maxima.org members off by taking their money and not returning their money or phone calls is on your conscience not mine.

E) They get my respect because they work instead of going on the Montel or Rosie or Oprah shows and talk about their problems instead of doing what they can to address them.
Hi Oprah

I see another comment like this on a forum I moderate, you and your kid are banished from posting. Drop it immediately. You are trying to start static.
So what you are saying is that anyone can post a time and no one is allowed to dispute it. And if they do you are going to ban them, is that what you are saying?

I guess you missed the part with all the profanity laced PM's to other members here as well and his calling Don a liar. But we'll stop uttering and discussing those pesky facts.
You are not working with facts just Don's words. They were not PM's they were direct email and you have absolutely no idea what was said in those emails so you are going solely based on what Don has said what was in them.

At least I can see where the ignorance and clouded judgment comes from. [/B]
Well I am not amused by that one but not surprised either considering your other remarks. Moderator or not you are defending someone who has scammed other people on this forum, will not back up his claimed times and refused to answer their claims till now.
You also deleted my thread about running 12.1, its ok for Don to make unsubstantiated claim for times but not me.
Are you a dictator or a moderator.
