BUYERS - LOOK OUT FOR XtremeHKS (LONG, FOR EXPLANATON)

Well, After reading his post in the for sale forum, click I emailed him and shortly after started chatting on AIM. We finally agreed on a deal that I would buy his 18x7 Enkei CDR9 with Nitto 555 225/40/18s for $550 plus shipping. The deal was clearly settled on November 5th at around 11:00PM. So I thought.

During the above conversation, He sent 2 picture of the rims and said they were on HIS car. But clearly, they were 2 different maximas with the same rims, which was just straight weird.

He also said his rims and tires are $600, or I could trade my rims and tire (98SE 5 spoke) (which I think are worth $350 - $400) which have 80% tread left. He said he would trade but I need to throw $500 cash towards him. Meaning he is buying my stock rims for $100. I just found that somewhat weird.

He said he just bought a 1994 Supra. I said are you gonna sell your Max? He said “yes”. So I said, if I don’t trade and just buy your rims and tires, what are you going to do about the rims on your max.. He says, “put them on bricks”
I was like, “hhhmmm, OK” what are you going to do when you try and sell it, People usually want the rims WITH the car.
He said he will buy a pair of metal rims (?) and tires. He said the rims cost $100. So I am thinking, plus the tires, he is looking at $250….with a total of $350, so why wouldn't he just want mine..It's just weird ****.

Today, November 6th, I saw his post in the general maxima forum, https://maxima.org/forums/showth...threadid=164475 (sorry for no link) But the thread indicates that those same rims he "supposedly" sold me, are on sale again, trying to get other buyers, one day afterwards.
So I sent him this email:
"UUUUMMMM....I was wondering if our deal was still in tact, because I saw your post in the general maxima forum...click here

Whats the deal?
John-Paul"

So later, I see him online and I see that he already read the email, so I send an instant message - here is where it gets interesting.
MCIFFOOS: you got mail
XtremeHKS: k
XtremeHKS: um yeah it is actually
XtremeHKS: were do you live
MCIFFOOS: what is?
XtremeHKS: you asked if the deal was going on still
XtremeHKS: yeah ill ship them to your door for 600$
XtremeHKS: is that what ur asking?
MCIFFOOS: yes I am but why did you post that they were still for sale?
XtremeHKS: because u never finalized the deal
XtremeHKS: i wont undercut you
MCIFFOOS: um, yes we did. I said "ok, deal"...plain as day last night.....remember
XtremeHKS: when are u gonna pay?
MCIFFOOS: I asked you if I could pay by next tues, you would get money thurs or latest fri...
MCIFFOOS: hello?
XtremeHKS: hold on
MCIFFOOS: ok
XtremeHKS: wer are u you
XtremeHKS: at
MCIFFOOS: why?
MCIFFOOS: hey, sorry I can't talk for long, I have class, but I kind of need an answer of why you posted that they were still for sale?
XtremeHKS: cuz im just trying to make sure they get bought
MCIFFOOS: I thought I cured that by saying that I would buy them, no?
XtremeHKS: well this mexican dude said hey ill buy your wheels on monday dont worry dude i wont let ya down well monday rolls around the guys like oh sorry dude i got about 250$ can i pay you the rest in 2 weeks.
MCIFFOOS: ok, but don't you usually wait until the deal officially failed before you tell people that they are for sale, when they are not....
MCIFFOOS: was it a mexican dude on the org?
XtremeHKS: nah
XtremeHKS: some guy by my work
MCIFFOOS: ok, well from my perspective, I am a little hesitant to buy these rims from you now....
XtremeHKS: yeah
XtremeHKS: theyre probably gonna be gone
XtremeHKS: cuz i have to get rid of them before saturday
MCIFFOOS: before saturday? Our deal was for next week though?
XtremeHKS: i know
XtremeHKS: thast why i have to get rid of them
MCIFFOOS: but why did you confirm our deal then?

There was a long pause and he signs off. So I send him this email:

"Well, I have no idea why you signed off, but I figure that it is because you are in a tight situation now. If you don't give me a valid reason of why you had them for sale, when our deal was on, then I will have to post our conversation on the org to protect other buyers...I am sorry, but you forced this upon yourself.
John-Paul"

Then he signs on half hour later, I see that he reads it, give him a few minutes, then Instant message him again and say, "well, whats it gonna be?" And he signs off agin.

So this leads me to believe that this youngster (18?) was looking for checks from people without sending anything in return. All of his comments seemed very shady.

Oh yeah, his profile says Albuquerque, NM, but in some of his posts, he says he lives in Phoenix AR...GEEZ, unbelievable...
Sorry XtremeHKS, but you forced this upon yourself. I guess you will have to build up a new reputation under another name, try and build a legit one next time (Somehow)

I truly beleive that I am gauging this run-in with XtremeHKS correctly. If by some slim chance I gauged it wrong, I deserve a

i'm not sure what the scenario is but i'm thinking that:

dam, thanks for the warning...

however, if he put them back for sale because he was afraid u were gonna back out and was looking for a better deal at the same time, i could understand him. Too many people say they gonna buy something but dont' in this forum and instead of being the good guy, sometimes u gotta look out for yourself and protect yourself by keeping a back up. I've unfortunately done this in numerous occassions when selling my console, fog lights and now my bose setup. Its just to make sure it gets sold. If he didn't do it for this reason, then he's an a-hole and i'm still not buying from him....

I would most likely appreciate this thread being removed, because this is false and theres other buyers that have purchased from me, I never promised a deal and I said if I have the wheels next week i will sell them to you but I also stated that since its such a great deal (600$ shipped with great Nittos) that they would most likely be gone in 2 days or les

Excellent, I am happy that you are making an argument for yourself. Too bad it's an argument for only 1 of your 57 mysteries. I want you to prove me wrong, to somehow come up with a VALID excuse as to why you pulled a hardcore move.

so.....you didn't send him any $$$, and he didn't send you any wheels/tires, right? BFD.

so whats the problem? You're mad because he didn't sell them to you? Why should we be warned? Are you warning us to be sure you have your **** together before you wanna buy something? Who got hurt? Nothing was exchanged, so no harm done. Or did I miss something?

I think you missed something.
Nothing was exchanged.
I am not mad that I didn't get the wheels, very happy because I think I caught him in the act of trying to scam.
I warned everyone so they can be aware when dealing with him.
Just posted what went on in my run-in with this seller.
No harm, but potential harm was clearly possible.

got the wheels

Before anybody flames me, let me just say that I am not XtremeHKS. I just bought my 2k max, so I was looking for some wheels and found XtremeHKS' ad.

After all of the things went back and forth on this board, I was kinda worry about my deal with XtremeHKS, but he came through. I got my wheels delivered by UPS last night, so XtremeHKS was for real. JerseyMaxima, you lost out on a good deal. I got it for $600 shipped, so... Just don't judge people by what was said. The truth was he just needed the cash fast, that's all.

Anybody wants proof I can post the pictures once I have them mounted on the car.

First of all I find it funny, that your label under "oldmanmax" is "I Finally Posted something". I don't know how many threads that label stays with you? Then in your first sentence, you clarified for some reason that you aren't XtremeHKS, when it is obvious that you weren't to us, but apparently were the same person to yourself.

your quote, "just don't judge people by what was said" is THE dumbest thing I have ever heard, hands down. What do you judge them by, their looks? "Yeah, he has a nice nose, so he must be telling truth" Come on man...

I didn't think he would scam anybody after my post, because he would get banned, and labeled. To try and prove that he was right, he would make the transaction and write that it was made with no problems. BUT, if I didn't write that, I thought that he might run away with an EXTRA $600.

I freely stated that I am new to the board so I haven't posted much. JerseyMaxima, there is no need to flame me or anybody else just because the deal didn't go your way. We are here to share infomation and learned more about the car, nothing more nothing less. My point about "not judging people by what was said" was that you can't take everything posted as truths, people do have 'hidden adgenda' and tried to twist the truths.

Enough by this, let move on. I have my wheels...
