Freakin %$%$#$^%$# GEICO!!!!

Okay, last week I was in a serious near head on collision which totaled my 97 maxima. A few days later, the insurance adjuster calls me and says the car is totaled, and that's all he really says. Over the weekend, I call GEICO and ask them about the rental car, they lady I speak to tells me not to worry about it, says I can keep it until 2 days after someone from their office calls me. I asked her if she meant the adjuster, she says no, someone from THEIR office would call me on Monday or Tuesday. So those two days go past and I'm starting to wonder when they are going to call. I was planning on calling tonight when I get a phone call from the rental car place saying GEICO had cut off my free rental as of 3 days ago! So I call up GEICO, and they give me the run around. After getting transfered to 4 different people, they tell me there is nothing they can do for me. They claim someone called and told me about the car having to be returned, and say they have a note in my file about it. They also won't let me speak with the person I talked to over the weekend to resolve the issue. This has got to be the worse customer service I have ever seen! On top of that, I had to pay $80.00 in taxes on my so called FREE rental car! I am still disputing the charges with them, but if I can't get them to pay, I will owe Enterprise another $150! I can't believe this crap. I called a few other insurance places planning on dropping GEICO TODAY, but they are all more expensive, and I need all the money I can get right now. I'm going to report them to the insurance regulators here in WA, but I doubt it will help any! I wonder if I can get them on collusion with Enterprise to rip off customers... Those bastards!

you got off lucky, man.

after telling me my rental car was fully covered - and i called and confirmed that at least 5 different times with different people in different departments during the 10 days i had it - safeco left me responsible for $380 of the rental car bill. and then enterprise charged it to my *check* card - the only card i'd had on me the day of the accident, so the card they had on file - without confirming with me at all, even though they'd told me i'd receive notice before any charges were made. well, after paying my $1000 deductible, i didn't have that much in the account, so it overdrafted and the bank ate me alive in fees. and then the next day enterprise charged an extra $70 - for "taxes" - again, without my approval. to the same card. even though i'd called and given them a different one. and of course, safeco denied ever having told me what they told me about the rental. even though i specifically asked one of the agents to write what we had discussed in my file, and asked her to read back to me what she had written. apparently, she deleted it after she hung up...

insurance is the biggest scam in america. never trust them for anything.

Yes, I've had so many lies from insurance agents before.
I guess I know now to record every call I make to them and then follow through with going to court should any problems arrise.

Wow, I guess I got lucky with my insurance company, AMEX Assurance (yes, the credit card company). Uninsured driver rear ended me, I call them up and fax them the shop estimate. The adjuster tells me it all looks about right for the accident I described and they cut me a check minus my deductible. They never even sent anyone to look at my car.

look - sorry you had a bad experience but do you guys really think that any company larger than your local pizzeria never makes a mistake or makes a blunder? with over 4 million policyholders i'm sure one or two are bound to get ****ed off.
