Never buy car from Cherry Hill, NJ Nissan Dealership

I've been looking for 2003 Maxima for a while, and was quoted $23384 before $1000 rebate about a month ago at Cherry Hill Nissan. It's for a base 2003 Maxima SE. Since then, I've decided not to buy the car due to personal financial reasons. I had a good experience there, so I recommended my girlfriend's dad to buy a nissan there.
I spoke to the dealer before her dad went, and confirmed that in April there's a $2000 dealer incentive. The dealer further stated that they'd pass the incentive on to the customer.
When I returned home from work, I got a phone call from my girlfriend saying her dad had purchased the car for $22000, not the $21384 we were expecting. Her dad's not good in english, so I called the dealer trying to find out why the price discrepancy.
As I explained the situation to the dealer, he kept on insisting how the price is below invoice already. Half way through, he said he cannot talk to me without the purchaser on the phone also and HUNG UP on me!!!
I have never had a seller hang up the phone on me before. I got her dad on the phone and 3-way called the dealer. The dealer was angry and tried to brush us off. Hearing his tone, I asked if I could record him. He started screaming at us and threatened to sue us and HUNG UP AGAIN.
If they can treat you like that right after you purchase a car there, imagine what else they can do! Too bad he's already put down a deposit. I'll never buy a car from there myself.
I have filed a complaint against his boss, Nissan USA's customer relations, their president, and investor relations. Hopefully someone will respond.

If you knew more than you do you wouldn't post this message.First of all the rebate last month was $1500 not $1000,wich is taxable ($90).The guy ended up spending $384 less plus saved $90 on taxes, wich brings the total to $474, and you have whole $26 to be upset
about.Besides last month Nissan dealers had a good reason to sell certain vehicles and the Maxima was one of them. The guy is lucky he
still got the great deal, because that reason is not there this month.
I think you should be grateful, because some other dealers simply would throw you out, they don't need customers like you, people like you should pay MSRP price, and I think you don't deserve driving
Nissan.
If you want to feel good about yourself then apologize to everyone
you have offended.

One note: the customer rebate was $1000, then increased to $1000 midway through the month. If you can find information other wise, please share.

How come you took this to heart?
Also I think that telling NETWIRE he dosen't deserve to drive a Nissan was uncalled for.
Can't we all just get along?
I personally have not had any luck with Nissan Dealership's in my area, I think if I was to get another vehicle, I would probably go to Infiniti and just pay the extra! My $.02

Badmouthing the dealer is what was uncalled for. After all Netwire didn't buy a car,and the other guy if he didn't like the price, could
simply walk out.If you don't like the deal or the dealer don't buy it
there. Also if you offer to pay fair price for the car, you'll have
a very pleasant experience, and everybody will be happy.
Netwire was negotiating the deal and then realized that he has no
money.I'd be embarassed, and would rather figure out how to pay for the car and then open my mouth.
Also I have to say that there are some Nissan dealers that you have to stay away from.Cherry Hill in this particular case was fair.
Stay away from Nissan dealers with the lowball ads, they are usually listed in Saturday's "Star Ledger" offering to sell you a car for $5000 below cost.

I agree with you on the last part about the dealers. I saw on this Sunday's ad a 2k3 Max SE to "BUY FOR $9,900 and 50 AVAILABLE". What a bunch of crock! When you get there they tell you that they are all sold, "but we have.......". Its all marketing and they just want to get people to the dealership, you figure if 10 people showed up atleast 1 out of the 10 may actually buy one at regualar price. I personally would stay away from LYNNS NISSAN and DENVILLE NISSAN!

Where are you all from?

Well, that $9900 seems to be a three year lease, plus the buyout at the end. The sad part is that if you read the fine print, everything is legal, what they fail to explain is that in order to make a deal, besides showing you $1000 b/s loyalty rebate, and adding $750
college grad. rebate that does not exist, they have to steal the trade,so if you are determined to buy a Max. for $17900, then expect
to get about $5000 for your $10000 trade in.If you don't agree then the deal is off.Pay $23000 for the new car then get what your old car is worth. The bottom line is what counts.
Rt22 Nissan in Hillside,Sansone and East Coast Nissan ,Nissan World
Lynnes, they all are trying to mislead the customer.
There are three reputable dealerships that I know of:
1.ACME NISSAN (SO.BRUNSWICK)
2.FLEMINGTON NISSAN (FLEMINGTON)
3.SOMERSET NISSAN (SOMERVILLE)

It's interesting that you registered just to defend this place. You also happen to know all the local dealership around the area.

I will ask then!

SVIK67, do you have any affiliation with any Nissan dealerships?

re: Bait and Switch

I got hit by that before. Byt he time I arrived there 5 mins later I got; "We sold it, but look what else whave". "Unless you have another 95 Ford Taurus GL 3.0 in Midnight Teal, I'm not interested!"

I saw a dealership ad for a '95 Grand Prix in the paper a few years back. It was thousands below book value and I assumed it to be the bait-and-switch car. I was passing that palce on my way home from work one day and called in - it was there! And we bought it for my wife...

Next time I am in the market for a car and I see what I think is a bait and switch, I'll call teh dealership from my cellphone int he parking lot and ask if that car is still avaialable - and please look out into the lot and make sure it is actually there. Then if they say yes, step out of the car and walk up to the door, ask them to take me to it. It had better damn well be there.

And have you noticed that whenever anyone is trying to sell you a car, there is always; "Some guy who was checking this out just a few minutes ago." I always answer with; "Sell it to him then. I can go somewhere else."

Used to.Still know a lot of people.I wish Nissan North America
could get rid itself of the dealers that have to lie to the customers
in order to bring them in.Everybody will be better off.

I agree! Truthfully I don't think I will ever buy a Nissan again, because of the dealerships, I may just pay the extra for an Infiniti. I was going to get the G35, but when they first came out the dealerships here were marking up the price above MSRP and would not budge.
