I had to get my $teallin muffler repaired, 2 months after getting it - the whole rear pipe section separated from the cannister.

I've had to have my flex section replaced on my $teallin Y-Pipe

Never Again...

I couldnt agree more. Most of the parts on my car are Stillen products and I have yet to have a problem with fitment or any quality issues. I will admit that their customer service IS a little sad, but Ive only dealt with them once when they sent me the wrong intake. I guess you could call me a Stillen lover.

you guys must be pretty lucky... just do a search and you can see all the bad experiences people have had with Stillen... especially about the headers..

I myself, as you can see by my sig, used to love $teallin, even after my brand new muffler (2 months) fell apart.

But after the muffler, Y-pipe, crappy phone support, unknowledgeable sales people and this whole header fiasco, I'm keeping my distance from them. I'm gonna support the smaller companies, ie: Cattman, SWA, CustomMaxima, etc., instead of throwing good money after bad on $teallin stuff.

I was asking one of the Stillen "tech"/Sales guys about the consequences of using an UNDERDRIVE PULLEY with their Supercharger kit and this is what he said.... It will OVER BOOST the system...

In reality, it will UNDER BOOST the system...

All he could say was that it wasn't recommended (cuz they probably have a little manual that says "recommended configurations" and that it was going to hurt my engine....

bunch of fu*ing MORONS!!

Bad experiences outweigh the good and that's in every car forum that someway is involved with those idiots.

Quit complaining people. You have no choice. Stillen is only company that makes most Go Fast goodies like SC. If we had a choice like HONDA then I would talk sh*t. Untill then stillen gives me 280Hp and im not compaining,

pretty much the only thing you can't get from other companies is the S/C KIT... if you wanted to put your own S/C together yourself, then you don't need Steallin..

maybe they have good stuff but i will never know as long as their prices are sky high, and other companies sell top quality merchandise thats as good or better than stillens.

i did get the stillen front lip because i thought it was the best product out of the selections.

I've purchased a couple of things from them: a 300zx high air-intake cone, a STS for the maxima, and a lip for my maxima. Sometimes they leave you on the phone for minutes on end. But once you are planted with a representive, you will be treated like a king.

If you guys need any help with anything, Phillip is the man over there at stillen. He will take anybody's order and treat you with the utt must respect as a customer.

Stillen is an excellent company idea that's been poorly executed, IMHO. They only provide a few things worth a damn to us 5th Genners, and some of their products are down right ripoffs for us. For the rest of the community, I think they do a good job (4th gen and earlier). Hopefully time will tell on whether or not we 5th Genners get the same treatment.

by that time we'll probably be cruising in our 7th gens or 6spdeed 4 door G35's...

Only two good things they have for 5th gens - SC kit and Aero kits. IMO of course

Does Stillen have any presence on this board? I mean, how can they be so bad for so long? Warpspeed, Custommaxima, Southwest and few others get feedback from this site but Stillen looks like doesnt even give a $hit?

Stillen was an innovator in designing performance parts for our cars. I don't have anything from them other than a FSTB, but that is because I can't drop $3600 on a SC. I think they have some great stuff available, but as of the last couple years, there are competitors that are improving on stuff that Stillen first introduced. I think Stillen has always concentrated on other cars than Maximas, and that is why some of the new companies out there are building better, and less expensive products. I don't see Stillen changing the way they do business to make more Maxima parts, when they have always been all over the Z cars. For a few years when there was no Z, Maximas got more attention, but due to the fact that there are not enough Maximas being hooked up to justify mass producing or intensive research, we will have to look to others for some of the mods. Stillen does make some very nice parts, and for the most part what they do make is the best available, but some companies out there can make a product that is 95% as good for 70% as much. That is bang for the buck, and is an unfair ratio to defend against. That is why the Hummer H2 is doing so well, 90% of what the H1 can do for 60% of the money. Would you rather have an H1 or two H2's? Maybe the H1 is just too much money, and not an option, that is how I see Stillen. I'd love to have it, but my money goes twice as far somewhere else.

I have to tell you, HndaETR, this is not the way you represented yourself on the phone; as "a guy that just states the facts". You also were very proud of how much business you have done with us. I thought we were communicating, it sounds like you are truly someone else on the boards. This kind of 'chatter' is what makes other people shy away from the boards. Now, had you talked with me on the phone the other day like you wrote this, it would have been a different story. You are always able to shop where you wish. That's the beauty of this country. But if you have a problem, call me and we will work to fix it. If the first thing you do, however, is stir up a hornets' nest and 'talk' like you have been - without having given us a chance to fix your issue(s) what should we do then?

What are your thoughts? And please answer as you would on the phone.

Regards,

Alex Cates

stillen products are the most expensive out there but they do make high quality products that fit perfectly, have good finish to them and they are probably the only ones with biggest selection for maximas. gotta love the 4th gen bodykit made by stillen.

EDIT: the only stillen brand product that would ever have a chance of going on my car is the bodykit. the full exhaust sytem has a 50% chance just because it sounds the best. and of course the s/c if i had the money that is....

everything else stillen makes is just way too damn expensive and ur payin for the name. stillen needs to drop their prices on lots of their products such as the nearly $200 FSTB. FSTB's go for about 8 bux on ebay and $40 for a really good quality strut bar !!

Mr.STILLEN could possibly give us a reason why their FSTB is $190 bux while an otto racing is $50 !!

That doesnt quite answer my question. Why is stillen FSTB worth $200 while ottoracing or bomz are worth less than $50. Tell us the SECRET !!

I want to purchase a FSTB really soon and would like to spend my money on some GOOD quality parts..... so i need to know what makes yours better!!!

Stillen representative, are you here? To better sales with maxima owners, it would be one's sales duty to answer a question of a potential customer, am i right?

You guys are funny. Do you think he has nothing better to do , than answer why you have to pay more for Stillen FSTB than Otto....just go get the Otto one...stop being babies....the free market system is there for you to use......No one is forcing you to buy Stillen FSTB's....!
