Custommaxima going downhill?

Why has custommaxima.com been changing the products they carry. My mom ordered me the levoc handles for my birthday. I asked for wood but they didn't have it so she got Carbon Fiber. When I she told me I said, fine I'll return them and wait until the wood comes off of backorder. Now I call and they aren't carrying them anymore. The new auto shift ***** are fugly and don't come in wood. Also, they aren't carrying SS Brakelines or CF Hoods anymore. I have been looking for the SS Lines on other sites but can't find any. If the search function was working I would search. I'm am just slightly disappointed. I have their sticker on the max and I'm tempted to take it off. By the way if the owner of custommax is on the forum I don't mean to offend you, I just would like to keep ordering quality stuff from you.

i guess too many people are selling those products and they dont see too much money in those parts since they have to drop price to compete?

Also the search function IS working, but only for people that donate

You can get your SS lines from here.http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=267563

A fellow org member that sold alot of brakes, lines and rotors to org members..go to the feedback section to look at his reputation.

hope this helps,

An update to the situation. My mom gets home today and starts telling me about her talk with the people there. I am asking for an UDP for christmas. They are out of polished and red, the only colors I want. The guy she talked to said he would call her back today after he called Unorthodox to see if they could drop ship a polished pulley strait from Unorthodox to her. He has yet to call her back. Thanks for the link Battle Max V2.0.

well mate, it's nice your mom calls and stuff and tries to get you nice items for christmas, but if she has to call so many times and apparently isn't getting through with what you want, why don't you call them yourself? Speak and ask.... couldn't hurt.

I will be calling today. But seeing as it is a gift my mom was taking care of it. It is also, very difficult for me to call them because they close at 5PM Eastern which is 4PM Central and I don't get off school untill 3:30PM. I wouldn't mind the black pulley but I would like to get something polished if it is the same price. And I do see it. I have removed all my splashguard. Because of that, when the wheel is slightly turned I can see the oil filter and pulley.

But why? Why did you remove your splash gaurd? Its there for a reason. You arent concerned about water being thrown on your belt assembly and other places in the engine bay? Messy.
Trust me, I have a red one. You cant see it, unless you poke your head way down in the engine bay and point it out.
You should try southwest autoworks, they cater to maximas as well and their prices are reasonable, compared to CM.

I removed my splashgaurd for weight reduction and underhood temp reduction. I also removed my hoodliner, so if water sprays up it goes right onto the hood and then I wipe it up. My logic behind removing splashguard is that it has to be removed if you get a bodykit other than a lip. I have never heard of anything extremely bad happening because of water to people with bodykits such as skyline or ionic dynamics. And FLAVOR247 if you remove the side splashguard you can see it from outside the car. There are four or five pieces of splashguard for the Max. Two or three are for the center. Two are for the sides/wheel well area; one for each side. Removing these makes the car look cleaner because there is nothing hanging down. It also reduces wind noise. I still have all the splashguard pieces if something bad happens. Anyway, I posted to give my recent experiences with custommaxima.

the splash shields are there not only to protect the engine from water, but also from flying debris and dirt. that purty red pullie will look like crap after a drive in the rain or snow. the undehood insulator is supposed to insulate underhood heat and noise.

not to burst you bubble but plastic splash shields dont weigh much, neither does the underhood insulator. taking them off wont do a thing. you're better off losing 10 lbs. same performance gain and healthier. i have a kit and 'm slammed to the ground and i still have my splash shields.

i hope i didnt come across as a d!ck. im just trying to bring you into reality before anyone else chews you out for you response. simply saying i WANT the red/polished one suffices, no one really cares what color it is.

I guess the original issue here is the Levoc product. Demand on those were minimal (yours was one of two orders left after the item was discontinued) so due to our price on them we decided to go with a product that we feel is is just as nice (looks good installed and weighs more...very quality product IMHO) and is less expensive for us so we can offer them to you for a better price. But I do respect your opinion on the items looks. Many of these parts are a matter of taste.
We'd like for you to "keep ordering quality stuff from" us but you do have to understand that we, as a business, do have to make certain decisions regarding what we do and do not carry from time to time. Sometimes those decisions are based on more than just 'it's ugly' or 'we don't like it'. It's unfortunate because, obviously, we'd love to be able to offer you every single part that was EVER made for the Max but, of course, that is not possible (Even Nissan or Microsoft can't offer that! ;P) There are decisions that go on behind the scenes sometimes that are not the decisions we'd like to make (again we want to carry everything) but have to make. I hope that helps answer your original question, "why has CM been changing parts around?"
Now on to the UDP. Well, you ordered the one that we just (and I just looked it up) sold several of for the holidays. More than expected actually. We had no idea they would sell like that at once, but that happens sometimes. The part does noty sell once for 2 months, then outta nowhere we sell 8 or 10 of them. We do have the other colors as Tyler mentioned.
I'm not sure what the weather is like there but they do have a point. you'll have to wash your car once a day to keep that UDP (and all other stuff) clean if you've removed all splash guards leaving your motor exposed.
We're open until 5:30 EST and sometimes I'm here even later (not too often thoough hehe). Again, sorry about the part being discontinued. Anytime you want to be 100% sure that a part is in stock feel free to give a call.

Hey Broaner22.....if you go with another color I'll ship it for nothing for you. Interested? I'll even 2 day it so you have it by Friday. That'll save you about $15 (li'l gas money for you hehe)

Call us by 4:00 pm today if you'd like to do that.

Steve just called and left a msg for your mom letting her know that he has not heard from Unorthodox on whether they have one of those to get out the door for you. We're still waiting to hear from them.

Thanks Flav!

We'd have the other one to him by xmas but I know what it's like to wait. It's not much fun. When you decide to buy a car part...you want it then and there!

Thanks for all your help Tyler and Ed. I will definitely be looking forward to holding the nice 2Ib pulley. Overall I am thankful that there is a site that makes buying parts easier. I was getting frustrated because I am in school and play hockey. The only time I have to work on the Max is during break.

On to the splashgaurd once again. Okay people. Thank you for stating your opinion about the splashgaurd. I don't drive the max in the winter and i took the stuff off over two months ago. I'm greatful to be able to drive a 2003 Dodge Caravan in the winter. It is much more convienient for carrying hockey bags and such. Anyway, I know about weather, this is Wisconsin, and I do wash whatever I am driving everyday. For $377 I got an unlimited pass for a local carwash. I can wash my car twice a day for a year and I usually do.

Broaner, no problem at all bro. Your polished pulley will be arriving before Christmas so you'll have plenty of time to install it on your Max over break. Releasing additional HP couldnt be any easier with this mod, I hope your happy with it . Let myself or Ed know if we can be of any additional assistance.

enough already, it's his car, his choice. like i had said, no one cares what color it is, but if he WANTS the red or polished, let the man get what he wants. if he wants no splash shields, again its his choice. a car wash wont keep that area clean, but if he doesnt drive his car( and i dont drive mine either) then he can do what he feels like dooing
