Suggestions for dealing with Frankencar?

So I placed an order with them for an intake right before Christmas and have been waiting for it ever since. Stupid me for being patient, PayPal wont investigate the transaction since it's more than 30 days old. I've sent 3 emails (just sent the 4th) and went as far as to lookup the domain registration information to try and track down an email address that's not @frankencar.com. The phone number posted on their site only rings to an unidentified voice mail and I'm not about to leave my personal info on a mystery answering machine. I'm probably gonna contact my bank to see if they can reverse the transfer of funds, but that would likely kill any future use of PayPal. What's their deal? (I mean Frankencar's, not PayPal's) Anyone in the MA area ever pay them a visit?

Try the Cell number for Scott or Steve, and leave your name & number if you don't get them. I contacted them last may and they called me back within a day.

Also, did you try emailing all 3 addresses on the site? I believe it was Scott who seemed to be most responsive when I called.

If nothing else, know that your order should ship once they have the parts... they seem to always be out of stock of one part or another... but I don't know of anyone on the ORG who didn't get their order eventually.

Yeah, the waiting sucks, but it's worth it.

Keep calling the cell numbers and don't give up. I took me 2 weeks to get through. Once I actually talked to one of them they were very nice and willing to either refund my $$ or tell me when the parts would be in. I now have a berk intake and am very happy with it.

Call their cell #'s after 5pm and you'll have better luck. Leaving a vmail on their cell's is the best idea as I doubt they even check the vmail for that office #. I e-mailed them back in Jan. and got a reply 2 days later. Good luck!

edit: If you used Paypal & paid thru your credit card, dispute the charge if you haven't already paid for it. CC co's are great about this b/c they know how much inet fraud goes on out there. This is probably the fastest way to get your money back.

But if he disputes the charge with his CC or contacts the bank, there is a good possibility that Paypal will lock his account down. It's an unfair policy, but that is how Paypal works.

And to those who say it's worth the wait. How is an intake worth a 2 or more month wait? It's just a filter on a stick. You could probably learn to TIG weld and make your own in 2 months. Especially when there are so many other options out there for intakes. It's not like this one puts out double the power the others do or has any better fit and finish.

why is the debate still going?? the intakes have gone out. i agree the wait sucks and getting the refund is a hassle. for anyone else that's going to be getting one, i would recommend calling frankencar 1st to make sure they have everything in stock

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The cell numbers kept going to voicemail like the office number so I didn't really think that was an option. I'll keep trying cause email sure isn't doing anything.

Unfortunately, the PayPal transaction was a direct transfer from my checking account so there's no disputing it with a CC company. My bank said they'd be willing to reverse the transaction if I gave them the OK, but I'd rather not shut off my PayPal account by doing so. It's infinitely handy when buying from eBay.

The thing is, I still want the intake, but if I can get a refund from them and go with Berk, I'll do it. The hard part is getting in touch with a human there.

I wonder if my local community college has machining and welding classes....

Hmm, I didn't know Paypal did that. I've disputed 2 Paypal charges in the past when I was burned and they didn't do anything
