Anyone use Haldeman Nissan in Hamilton, NJ?

I had the famous "broken exhaust stud" problem that plagues 3rd Gen Maximas, and they quoted me $800 to fix. I reluctantly agreed, but they charged me $1200!!! I fought and fought with the service manager (the actual guy who quoted me the price) and they knocked of about $100 after a month of wrangling. I went all the way to Nissan corporate with this one.
Furthermore, at the same visit they did the timing belt, and they never tightened the pulley. A few days later, I nailed the gas, and the belt jumped. Result: my valves met my pistons. New valve train was installed at Haldeman cost, I had a loaner for a week. Then they tried to charge me for the loaner.
So, I do not like Haldeman. I now only use them for parts, as there is a shortage of Nissan dealers in the Trenton area.
I get my work done at Suburban Wrench in Pennington (Honda specialists, but they have done my Nisan fine.)
Sorry for rambling.

Hey, don't apologize for rambling - it's good
to know. This is the kind of stuff I hate to
hear about, buy it's better to find out up
front. It's very telling about the "character"
of the organization when it comes to stuff like
that. I always explictly state the max I will
authorize before I require a phone call. $400
over on a $800 repair estimate should have
been a phone call to you.
I bought my Max at Windsor Nissan, so I'll
try them out for awhile. There's another
post in here that says they are pretty
decent.
Thanks for the data point & sorry to hear
about your experience.
I used to take my Civic to Suburban Wrench
in Pennington. It was an inconvenient drive,
but I really liked the mechanics up there.
I sold them my car instead of trading it in
when I bought my wife's Accord wagon.

Re: Re: Bad Experience at Haldeman
Small world - I just bought my wife an Accord Wagon.
I should add that the parts department at Haldeman is pretty good. They have a young guy named John there that is pretty sharp and willing to go the extra mile. He has given me some decent advice on doing my own repairs; he will come out and look at my car and discuss it and such.
But they will never see my cars in their garage again.
