Ever been gipped by FedEx?!

Has anyone on this forum ever been rippd off by fedex? I'm pretty sure many people have. Daym, I had bought an LSD tranny from an org member and i had the tracking number and everything. It showed that the package was sent, but then weeks later it never updated after it left and I NEVER got my package. I tried calling FedEx and tried b*tchin at them to give me my money back or at least find the stupid package but they said that the dispute wasn't between me and them, they said it was between the shipper and them. I say that THIS IS BULLSH*T! Does anyone know if there is ANYTHING i can do to get my money back besides getting it from the seller? I spent just about a grand getting it And if anyone has been screwed by FedEx, how did you resolve to it? I would appreciate any advice, thanks.

As a former fedex employee, I can tell you that many times shippers will ship their packages through the fedex powership or similar online shipping website which generates a tracking number and looks like the package is in the system before the shipper actually drops it off (or it is picked up by) FedEx. Then if the shipper never gives FedEx the package it looks like fedex messed up which is not the case. Do you trust the shipper of this package? Is it possible he is trying to rip you off and blame it on fedex? Like the post 2 above mine stated, if fedex is at fault they usually go out of their way to fix the problem. If is is not the case, then the shipper should start a trace on the package and file a claim. I would think a tranny would be something not easily lost and if it is the shipper would surely of put a declared value on it to cover himself.

Once I bought something pretty expensive online. Fedex attempted to deliver it to a WRONG address. I called the local place that had my package at night after they closed. Manager personally delievered it to me. From what I know they have outstanding customer support. Cheers

I've used FedEx for years and only had one issue with a package. They left it on my doorstep(so they say) and it was gone by the time I got there.

so then does this mean i have to talk to the shipper? he claims to have filed a claim on the package and that fedex did not approve of it or something like that, they said he had to show them a receipt and fedex said the receipt was illegible to read. The shipper has said he tried to send them pictures in trying to find it, gave them weeks and still nothing. Now the shipper is not talking to me, IRONICALLY he is a moderator on these forums, but I will not give any names YET. So I guess there is nothing I can do about this? I can't possibly sue neither the shipper or fedex? or anything at all? Being a college student, $1000 is alot to me. Thanks for the help guys.

the shipper owes you some explanation. He is responsible for getting you the merchandise since he is the one that shipped it. If it is a FedEx error, he should have himself covered in some way by putting a declared value on the shipment.

How shipping manifest can be illegible? I work for UPS and I would not accept a package at the pick up if I cannot read the label. I this case shipper should prove that he realy shipped that tranny - reciept, waybill, anything stating date, shipping address and your address. When I ship my items I always keep copies for myself.

How did u pay for it? MO/PayPal/personal check/CC? Maybe refund is avaliable...

weLL i'm assuming that fedex wanted to see the receipt of the original package when he FIRST purchased it "who knows how long ago" so that may be the reason why it is illegible for them to be able to see the price so that they may refund him the money to give to me. I still think that it is BS though. I paid for it by MO and i still have my receipt. I have all the messages through the life of this deal as well.

the real question is, why would FedEx want to steal a freakin' used Maxima transmission? I mean, it's not like some delivery driver stuck it in his bookbag and took it home.

If you were complaining about missing jewelery or electronics, that would be one thing. But a transmission is kind of big, kind of worthless to most people. The FedEx wouldn't know what the tranny is for, if it's rebuilt or not, etc etc.

Looks to me like the shipper made a label online, sent a tracking number, and then never actually delivered the package to FedEx in the first place.

that makes me think that the shipper is at fault.....if he was trying to complete the transaction in good faith, he shouldn't have any trouble talking to you.

Hey how did you pay for this? If by credit card, then go to the credit card company and file a fraud report. This is what I did when a fleabay seller tried to scam me but I went to my credit card company and filed a fraud report and I got my whole refund back. Fraud Reports FTW!

Yeah there is, there should be a number on the receipt. You can do a stop payment on the money order, but depending on what kind of money order (western union for example ...the worst.) they will charge a fee.

I would never pay for anything by MO... I ALWAYS use my CC. If anything goes wrong, I get my money back.

Sorry about your trouble though... Lesson learned I guess.

stop payment? Aw i paid for this a long time ago, probably about more than 4 months already. The seller said to give FedEx some time to search for the package, so I did, and after about 2 months of not receiving my package, i figured it was BS and I seriously wanted my money back, but i didn't know what to do. I tried talking to the seller and tried talking to FedEx and neither gave helpful advice.

He is also a moderator of the forums and I did not expect for this to happen since he had positive feedback from many other org members.

The shipper is at fault and if FEDEX lost it, the shipped should have filed a claim. If they didn't that means they never shipped it.

As to buying online I always use AMEX card. They got your arss covered left and right.

the exact same thing happened when i shipped a 4th gen 5 speed through UPS. It got "lost", and I (seller) had to file a claim, then UPS sent a check for the value I claimed when i shipped it (price sold for), and then I refunded the buyer's payment. So nobody really lost anything. only the buyer really wanted the tranny and was bummed he never got it.
