try this before getting rid of em... turn ur car on with ur high beams... and let it run for bout 10 15 min and then check ur angel eyes... mine barely comes on in this 10 degree morning weather but wen i leave my high beams on after 15 min they get brighter... u gotta understand that these rings have mercury in them and at the cold climates everything gets basically frozen... check it out and come back with some input... btw i had my ddes for about 2 years now... and the only problem i had was the ballast... wen i first bought them they were in a metal casing... the new updated ones are in a plastic casing...

Have you tried contacting the company directly, instead of cussing them out in the open (in the wrong forum btw)?

I just hit 2 years with my Umnitza DDE's and still love em. No issues (outside of slow warm up when it's below freezing, which is expected). Seems some just got better batches than others. Sorry to hear.

But yes, I'd suggest a call Umnitza if you're at all interested in keeping them.

you went thought the trouble of switching them 3 times, why not leave them in , in the summer and take them out in the winter? you said they work in good weather and dull out in the cold, just take them out for the winter if you can't put up with them?

One thing is that the weather in CT went from 43 degrees to >0 degrees in one night. The last two days the high temps were between 10-15 degrees. Try the high beem route to warm the DDE's up. Last winter our lowest temp was about 25 degrees and that was at night. The DDE's have to be warm so why not do what Kabir stated. Atleast give it a try. How did the DDE's perform today with the temps being in the mid to upper 30's?

and what, exactly, is the relevance of the ethnic heritage of the comany owner?

I'm not defending umnitza (I don't think they make a good quality product), but I don't think the ethnicity of the owner is any more relevant than if he was black, asian, hispanic, or british.....

Actually, I was born in the Ukraine. FWIW.

And people wonder why we don't bother with forums anymore. Many companies just support forums, and don't actively participate as a result of these exact immature posts.

if you are unhappy about something with the product, we are an email or phone call away.

Contrary to what you people (just some of you of course) think, we actually continuously work to improve our products - starting tomorrow, we will be finalizing our permanent solution to all cold weather ...no more will be said about this on the forums until it's fully released.

I'm sorry, I'm a n00b on the max forums, but on the bimmer forums umnitza vendor is split 50/50, and they are a forum sponser there. Granted they recently moved but I dislike their sluggish shipping and poor customer service. I do like their products, but overall I really dislike them. I recently spoke to some fellow bmw forum members during this weekend and they also agree they aren't fond of their business either.
